Sampled at mark’s tasting last year next to the black damnation mocha bomb. This one was dark, rich, dark cocoa, coffee, and alcohol heat. Not as good as the mocha bomb, but pretty good.

At the brewery kindly given to me in a 18cl bottle. Black as could be with very little head. A dark chocolate burnt booze with touch of lemon and orange, even syrupy smelling and a touches of vanilla, roasted malt, dark fruits, nuts but more. Flavor follows boozy chocolate burnt lemon but adds a woody character and is pretty sweet. Finishes long burn boozing for sure.

Aromatisch, wenig alkoholisch. Ein Spitzenprodukt. 12/13/12/14//13

Bottle, 18 cl. Rating #450. Pours black with a small dissipating brown head. Aroma has lots of dark fruits and port notes, raisins, prunes, plums, figs, malt sweetness, chocolate, coffee, oak, delicious cognac note and a slightly dry leathery touch and some nice roasted notes. Really complex nose. Delightful. Taste is somewhat more rough than the aroma, high roastiness, coffee, charcoal, dark chocolate, some of the same dark fruits but not as dominating as in the nose. Nice oak and cognac impressions. A dry finish from a hot evaporating alcohol on the palate, which works really nice, cleaning the palate for next sip. Really good.

Bottle at 4:20. Pours brown with a small, tan head. Dark, ashy and cocoa malts on the nose. Medium sweet, light mocha, notes of booze. Full in body with average to lively carbonation. Warm, almost hot finish, lots of cocoa and dark malts, some milk chocolate, bits of ash and peat. Great stuff.

Thanks to Popkas for this Whale War tick and glass I ticked it in, Jester King snifter... deep dark black with a big medium tan head, great retention and lace as was expected... nose of roasted chocolate, a bit of ash, some nice subtle vanilla in the middle and a finish of citrus fruits, reminds of black albert, but a little light overall, wish it opened up more... the taste is stronger, chocolate on the front then roasted coffee, a bit too ashy and burnt, as it warms it gets more ashy and bit to hot, a little vanilla finish but this is sadly almost ruined by the ash, really quite disappointed... really nice mouthfeel, quite full... not bad, but don’t give up much
