From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity, dark malt, wooden and vague mouldy. Alcohol, vanilla, dark malt, acidic roasted. Wooden and lingering vanilla into a dark malty and slight roasted finish. Ends dry and herbal coffee like.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate, and lemony fruits. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roated malt and alcohol, as well as medium notes of wood, and chocolate, leading to a very dry, roasted, bitter, and alcoholic finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

Bottle 18 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a pitch black with a brownish head. Hard roast nose with a vinous barrel-like touch. Massive body, very hard roast - almost coffeeish - vanilla, metal and dark fruits. Again a little vinous. Hard roast all through the finish. Delicious. 230311

omhper (19192) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - NOV 19, 2010
Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm. Exceptionally black, rich firm head. Generous coffee aroma. Mid dry, dense and grainy with raw licorice, tobacco and lots of coffee. Remarkably roasty, but feels leser than it’s 14%. Salty, somewhat resiny bitterness. A bit edgy.

24th September 2010. Borefts Beer Festival.
Opaque black beer. No real head. Very light and crisp palate. Very well integrated range of flavours. Marmite, dark chocolate and coffee. Mineralls. A little subtle cherry and other dark fruits. Finishes dry and slightly creamy. Yeasty aftertaste. Drinks like 7%!
