(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm, 4 Nov 2010) Pitch black colour with creamy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate truffels, cocoa, black coffee, liquorice and hints of oak wood. Slightly vinous. Roasted, malty taste with notes of black coffee, chocolate, cocoa, oak wood and a dry finish with a solid cocoa bitterness. Full body, quite dry and woody. Quite powerfull, but still in very good balance. Lovely beer! (This rating was entered while listening to the gentle tones of Lamb of God’s "Walk With Me in Hell", which kind of makes sense.)

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Utterly black with a magnificent, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma is powerful, light vinious, cocoa-beans, coffee, oak, dark chocolate, light vanilla. Not that sweet, which is a good thing. Highish carbonation, oily yet fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour is wonderful, viscous chocolate, cocoa dryness and vanilla sweetness. Light coffee notes with a nice oaky and vinious presence that balance everything nicely. Reminds me of Black Isak a bit. Great.
