5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Rich, black color. Muddy hued head. Smells like a booze and chocolate factory collided. Craziest beer I have ever tasted. So strong and rich. Thick.

Very big thanks to bierkoning for this rare beer! Bottle looks great, very much like the regular Black Damnation. Looks very good in the glass, deep black, huge head, a bit oily. Starts not as strong as exspected, soft malty, modest sweet, some smoky notes. Gets then drier and drier, really warming-malty, notes of bitter chocolate. Finish woody, dry, notes of liquorice and strong coffee. Very well balanced and not too dry. Starts soft, the finish is warming powerful. An incredible beer!

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2011 Bottle @ home to celebrate my birthday!Solid black pour, huge brown head. Aroma is peat, coffee, smoke, wood, whisky, roasted malt, hint of leather. Very deep and intense.Flavour is huge coffee, some peat, roasted malt, hint of caramel, smoke, wood, hint of bourbon, loads of roasted malt and loads more subtle notes. But this are all just words, they don?t properly describe how awesome this beer is. I was pleased to find this in the De Molen shop, but assumed it was a bit overrated, as I do with all high rated beers. But this is not overrated, it?s underrated! This is some truly wickedly amazing stuff. I want more!!

A Mes rate. Bottle shared at Mikkeller thanks immeasurably to Skortila, Caesar and NoiZe, legendary folks!
Well, what a day this turned out to be. Considering I woke up feeling like a bear shat in my head the night before, 10am saw the Calvados and Cherry Brunch, then we discovered the Mr. Fred Brunch blend on at Mikkeller and then, thanks to some top quality Dutch folks, here I was drinking this, and it wasnít even lunch time yet. My god, this one was pant wettingly good. Itís black, it has a truly epic tan head and it looks about as good as anyone could wish a stout to look. I was sensing groundhog day prayers on the way already. Christ on a bicycle this is a biggun. So much chocolate itís almost funny. Kid in a sweet shop doesnít even come close. I hate nuts... this tastes of nuts... theyíre AMAZING. The oaky notes are unparrallelled. In fact it could not be more oaky if it had been brewed in a tree. So much about this beer is beyond huge but somehow no one element over powers another. Itís like a juggernaut powering into my senses but it seems to be driven by a goddess who climbs out and cuddles me through to the end. Faint peaty notes and a fair drizzle of liquorice sauce plus a nothing short of glorious prickle of peppery alcohol round things of beautifully. As with many of Mennoís beers I was rendered almost without the power of comunication while I drank it. My notes make it sound like like a real beast but although itís certainly powerful the whole experience is so gloriously smooth and erm... steamy. An utterly stellar beer from one of the most talented brewers I know.

Many thanks to dEnk for sharing this one.Heavy pitch black pour, huge solid tan head. Enormously well balanced flavor with heavy sweet roasted malts covering a thick roastedness, with licorice, coffee, peat and caramel. Huge flavor, very drinkable and extremely pleasant. Majestic brew.

Bottle. Joan Jett black pour with a mocha head. Rich aromas chocked full of dark roasted malts, fudge, and vanilla. Thick and hearty with loads of chocolate, caramel, fudge, deep dark roasted malts, and just a hint of burnt expresso.

Small pour provided by 50belair, you rock my friend! Super dark pour with a thin brown head. Aroma is full of chocolate, fudge, burnt malt, slight coffee notes and delicious alcohol. The ABV is hidden extremely well amongst the flavors. Very well balanced and easy to drink.
