Very pleasant aroma has whiskey, vanilla and hints of roasted malt behind those. Reminds me of Närke Kaggen. Flavour has a bit too sharp whiskey, some wood and vanilla. A good one, at least for a whiskey lover like me.

With a very intense nose of roasted malt, chocolate and appels (very fruity!). Very smooth in the mouth, maasive tste yet soft finishing.

Hade en ganska stor och mycket vinös doft. Lite halvtjock vätska med tydliga innslag av lakrits och trevliga brända toner. Eftersmaken lång och fin. Trots att det är en ganska tung öltyp så slinker den ned ganska lätt.

Bottle, #937. A black beer topped by a medium sized, creamy, light tan head. Boozy, vinous and roasted nose with some oak hints. Oak, roasted malts, chocolate and coffee in the vinous flavor. Warming and full-bodied in the mouth, but it could use more carbonation. Overall, a nice beer indeed, but a bit too much oaked for my likings. A beer worth repeating. 110107

Bottle. Black colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, dried fruits, coffee, alcohol. Flavour is sweet, alcohol, coffee, licorice , oak. Full bodied nice beer.

Pours black with a nice and creamy espresso brown head. Aroma is coffee, liquorice, roasted malts, a bit smoke and some subtle vinous notes. Taste add some more smokey and roastyness, more sourness, alcohol, chocolate and hints of dark fruits leading to a english liquorice and slight hoppy end.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2011 180 ml bottle. Black body with a big, dense beige head. Aroma of sweet, black malt, dry fruit, coffee, molasses and alcohol. Flavor has oak, vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate, bitterness and warming alcohol. Full body. High class stuff.

180mL bottle from de Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Tall foamy light brown head. Body is the darkest brown with mahogny edges. Distinct woody and vinous barrel aroma. A strong scent of chocolate, notes of cigarbox and cheese(!) Big malt body. Black chocolate flavor in the lead. Roasty, nutty, vinous and woody. Notes of vanilla, ash and black pepper. Full. Soft and creamy in the mouth. Great complexity. An excellent sipper.

Bottle #1947 kindly shared by gunnar. Pours black with a finger thick, brown, frothy head. Roasted malts, berries and dark dried fruits including raisin dominate the aroma. Sweet, alcoholic, roasted and acidic flavors. Full bodied and oily. Lively carbonation.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Pours unclear dark brown with a big tanned head. Aroma of dark coffee, vanilla, oak and bourbon. Taste of roasted and burnt malt, smooth and full bodied. Liquorice and strong bitter coffee. Very good and complex beer.
