Duft av rykt sild. Dyp mrk brun farge, nesten sort. Dekkende brunt skum. God smak av frukter, noe ryk, kaffe og vanilje. Nydelig.

Pours dark brown with minimal tan head and floating crumbs. Aroma is really smokey, roasted malts, some chocolate, bacon. Sweet smokey taste. Maybe too much smokey for me.

DWG; Bottle 33cl. Take away from Szczecin. Pours dark brown with sediments, moderate lasting, leaving lacing, tan head. Nose is heavy campfire roasting smoked bacon, malt, caramel and dark, dried fruits. Taste is moderate sweet, umami, light bitter, light spicy with a lasting smoky finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

355ml bottle. Very dark brown in colour with a large and lingering tan head, excellent lacing. The aroma is quite smoky, lots of peat, roasted malts, dark chocolate and wood. The flavour is quite roasty, some light liquorice, smoke, sweetness, chocolate, light alcohol, cold coffee. Creamy roasted mouthfeel, medium body, mild carbonation. Finishes long, creamy, smoky and sweet. This is very nice. Aged awesome. A smoked porter to rival Stones.

330ml bottle (BierKompass.de)
Lovely smoked bock aroma, sweetish, sausagey. Very deep red, frothy beige head. Dark roast, sweet, and again more of a bocky feel than a stout. Deep burntness, but not astringent. Smooth palate. Very pleasant smoked bock?

Im not sure how this is supposed to be a smoked stout. Much more of a smoked ale than a stout, to my sensibilities. Still, a nice beer. Cigar smoke is a bit much for me in the lacy, frothy head that lingers. Nice sweetness, nice balance otherwise. De Molen making good beer as usual.

Appearance: Black brown, nice amount of dark tan head.
Aroma: Smoke, tar, roasted, bacon. Dark malt.
Taste: Over 20 years ago when my dad used to tar our wooden rowing boat in the summer, there was a very distinctive smell of tar and wood. This tastes like that smelled. Dark malt, chocolate, smoke, tar, wood. Lovely.
Bought: Erzbierschof, 330 ml, CHF 6.00

Bottle from Bernies, Shirley. Really excellent Smoked beer. Great leathery, salted meat flavour. Lovely black handbag body, with a ladder of liquorice. Accomplished.
