2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- date stamp: 22/05/12. Aroma of malt and smoke. Clear, very dark brown color, bubbly beige head cover, dots and spots of lace. Taste is caramel malt, sweet and syrupy, that is nearly empty of carbonation as it slurries to a smoky, lightly hopped finish. The lack of fizz suggests this is well past it’s prime. Too bad.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
33 cl bottle. Murky dark brown with an average beige head. Aroma is fully geared nasty smoked sausage. Flavor of smoked sausage, charcoal, salmiak, brown sugar. Soft carbonation, oily. OK done but not my taste. Probably excellent to distill and barrel age for 40 years.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy, dark brown with a reddish hue, lots of sediment and a thin, light brown head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, smoke, dark chocolate and licorice. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, licorice and dark chocolate with a smoky, dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My first thought when I smelled the beer was Laphroig. It really has this intense peaty smell some Islay whiskeys have as well.
This peaty taste dominates the beer completely at first, some chocolate notes.
Finish roasted malts and peat.

Pours black with some bubbles, minor lacing. Smoky aroma, soy sauce, tar, licorice, kinda like cough syrup. Nice taste, little bitter but quite smooth, some malts in the end. Oily mouthfeel, barely any carbonation, some tingles only. Pretty good smoked one overall.

It smells as if the malts were smoked over burning tyres. The taste is only slightly worse than the smell. I should note that I am not a fan of peat-smoked malts.
