Bottle. When opened, starts to push out of the bottle so beware and be aware. Pours a very dark, auburn brown with a very large, rather stylish looking, beige cloud of a head. Aroma is quite a lot of smoke and tar, light smoked ham. After the head settles a bit, the smoked ham become stronger and is joined by some caramel. Taste is semi-sweet with caramel, some yeast and marzipan, light appley fruitiness. Plenty of smoke and some tar. Quite a lot of sweet & salty liquorice on the finish along with hard tar candy flavor. Rather full with too strong a carbonation. Pretty enjoyable, but perhaps too sweet to be enjoyed to its fullest in large quantities.

Bottle. Første traneøl ever. Dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Lots of smoke in the nose, mostly peated. Flavour is more meaty smoke with some rusty iron, mushrooms, earth, forest floor, wet wood, berries, light brown sugar. The texture is soft and it drinks easy. Medium sweet and little bitterness. Ok, but a bit meh.

33cl bottle (pretty lively) at home. Dark brown with a (very) full off-white soapy head with quite some retention. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Well balanced bitter and sweet tones. Roasted malts, chocolate, smoke, dark fruits and herbs. A nice dark smokey brew.

Completely dark bodied, small tan head. Bacon and heavy smoked aroma. Hints of chocolate and brown sugar to hide the alcohol. Medium to full body, flat carbonation, oily feel. Great!

Bottle originally purchased from Beers of Europe, dark brown, almost black. Massive brown head with loads of carbonation. This bottle’s lively! Smoked meat, bit of chocolate and root beer along with some forest floor earthiness. A surprisingly sweet initial taste leads to a satisfying savoury bitterness. Chocolatey bittersweet finish. Full palette improved further by the carbonation. A great brewery pulls off another brilliant beer.
