I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Dark beer with a small head and low carbonation. The aroma is just the right one very smoked but sweet at the same time, some yeasty notes are felt, however they do not interfere with the overall experience. The flavor is really good, smoked but balanced with the malt and hops, and you get the right amount of everything at the end, prevailing just this smoky aftertaste.

(33 cl bottle in wine glass.) Pours clear dark brown with a thin yellowish head that fades rather fast into a soapy foam. Aroma is watery with a distinctly peated scent. Mouthfeel is oily and rather thin with peat and a not so bitter nor roasted porter foundation. I bet this would pair well with a lot of foods. Too bad I have only this bottle and just ate!

Marrón casi negra. Sin espuma. Aroma intenso, a bacon y humo.

Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Smokey nose, peaty, quite phenolic, and alcohol fumes. Medium dark reddish brown prune juice-like color. Sweet initial, with rich malt, smokey and roasty, light soy sauce, bit of licorice, and ash. Thin-medium body, somewhat oily, and very low carbonation. Very nice. Peaty stuff can go too far, but this one maintains its sanity.
