AROMA: smoked ham, peat, burnt coffee beans, alcohol APPEARANCE: black, frothy, clear, froth clears to minimal head TASTE: medium bitterness, umami, PALATE: full body, oily feel, average, bitter, long finish OVERALL: really good balance of the smoke from the whisky with the porter-like aromas, bit too alcoholic---may benefit from a few year maturing.

Draught at Erzbierschof. Pouts a dark brown with a white head. Smells of smoke and malt and whiskey. Tastes of a heavy sweetness with a medium bitter and lots of smoked flavors. Finishes somewhat dry, but quite excellent.

Bottle 33cl from bierkoning, a dark beer with huge head, limit of a gushing. Nose is on ashes. Here we have a very smoked beer, even ashes notes, very bitter hops and a very dry body which gives a sharp feeling emphases the bitterness and smoked notes. In my opinion should have more sweetness.

Bottle from March 2010. Pours dark brown with some head that lingers slightly. Nose is brown malt, smoked sausage, peat and astrigeent qualities. First sip is smooth malty flavors with big smoky flavors. Finish is sweet with less smoke. Not bad.

drank it about two years after best before date. spilled like a quarter of a bottle (gushing) when opened. it came with heavy foam. Tasted like roasted nuts

Csak a jó sör, Budapest. Sötét, vörösesbarna színe van, habja óriási, kőkemény és világosbarna színű, és nagyon kitartó. Illata igen füstös, aszalt szilvás, fás, fekete csokis és kissé alkoholosan édeskés. Az első kortynál egyből érezni a finom füstösséget, ami kicsit kormosan és égett keményfásan jön. Aztán csatlakozik egy adag pörkölt maláta, fekete csoki, szép adag komló és egy kis élesztő. Közepesen testes és szénsavas. Utóíze is füstös, égett kenyérhéjas és igen száraz. Egy igazi különlegesség, ami kellemes de a közepén egy kicsit üresnek tűnik.

Mix of smokey uppertones and sour undertones on the tongue. Definitely a smoked beer. Though it seems thin in the beginning there seems to be some oily/fattiness left in the mouth, interesting. Bottle from De Bierkoning.

RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting @ the Harlequin. Dark brown with medium brown head. Amazing smoky aroma,and a heavy roasted malt background. Flavours of sweet malt,caramel,ash,tar, peat. Very complex.A great beer

Ein Batch des Bieres wurde mit anderem, falsch geliefertem Malz gebraut, Bruichladdich Malz. Aromatischer Geruch von Rauch, Whiskey-artig und deutlich hopfig. Würziger, tief malziger Antrunk mit wenig erkennbarer herber und bitterer Note. Voluminös würzig-hopfig, prägend röstig. Diese Note steigert sich zum Ende erheblich, sehr erdig. Im Nachgeschmack röstig und bitter-schokoladig. Super Fehl-Gebräu! /12/11/13//12
