Bottle from Cornelius. Pours hazy deep amber. Nose is toffee, caramel, zest, resinous hops, very sweet. Tastes sweet malty, red fruits, toffee, resin, quite fruity, honey, quite thick. Quite solid but BA versions seem more interesting.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2016 Nagazowanie niskie, odrobinę za niskie. Barwa bursztynowa, mętne.
Piana niska, szybko opadająca, biała, bez wysepki, szczątkowy lacing, piwo "płacze". Aromat: owocowo-słodowy, średnio intensywny, mango, lekki zapach weizena tj banany i goździki, alkohol dobrze zakamuflowany. Smak: Słodkie, z początku owocowe, potem przechodzi w typowo weizenowy smak: goździki banany, alkohol zakamuflowany. Wszystko wiąże się z lekką i przyjemną goryczką. Trochę daje Witbierem. Bardzo pijalne, ale oczekiwałem czegoś lepszego.

I feel like Iím in a Dutch canal, smoking a doobie, throwing prunes at passers by and yelling at them "Gadaffi is a lesbian!". It is much like a Dutch flavoured salted licorice on coke, a masterful drink. Extremely malty, smooth mouth feel, a hint of chicory essence and not what youíd expect for almost 12%. Amazing stuff.

Ein wunderbares Barley Wine. Im Geruch und Geschmack eigentlich wie Barrel Aged, aber es war nur das "Normale".

@TCBW Hazy reddish brown colour with nice fluffy head on top. Aroma has caramel malts, sweet fruits, dried fruits. Taste is quite sweet with caramel malts, sweet fruits and ends with nice punch of hops. A bit to sweet for my taste as a Barley Wine but nevertheless enjoyable.

Bottle - Tons of sweet fruit, apricot and candied dark fruit like a fruit cake. Clearish dark copper amber with a small beige head. Nice fruity sweetness, lots of candied fruit with a touch of bitterness in the finish. A bit into the finish you get the hint of sweet hoppy notes. A wonderful, sweet and fruity barley wine. It has been a while since I enjoyed one like this.

Drinked it during "Lubelskie Targi Piw Rzemieślniczych", Nov 2015, long before joining RB, but it stayed in my mind as best Barley Wine Iíve ever tried.

Groovy 70ís vibes cominí through my window. I wonder, how much craft beer did the disco generation really drink? Was it all vodka shooters or macro lager or did they actually do the craft brew thang before hittiní the dance floor a la Saturday Night Fever? Hope Travolta didnít feel bloated nor anything.... this has gots one of those red waxed caps, an officiating of sorts, okay to be honest no idea really. Poured warm is poured with a pretty good head and an orange body with a hint of red. The aroma is that of the cheese you left in the back of the fridge last week open, kinda musty, a bit of lemon juice fell over it. You had just finished your first week in New York, trying to make it big as a sessional bass player from France, over on one of the last oceanliners of the season. Fuck, planes are for wimps, ocean sailingís where itís at. So you got this apartment on the lower east side, close to Alphabet City, started farming out your services all íround SoHo with your standup bass from Paris and got a gig with an Avant-Garde jazz group playing at the Village Vanguard twice a week. Hey, not bad for a guy on a tourist visa. So you get yourself down to the proper French fromagerie in Chelsea and finally find some good Comte cheese.... and damn, was it good. At 10pm after a gig playing Davis standards you beelined it back to your seedy apartment and started gorging on the stuff, holy fuck, decent, nice, after all this time without a decent Comte amongst these unwashed savages who call themselves Americains. You suck down the cheese and notice hints of sweet orange juice, lime zest, coriander hints, candy corn, lotsa sugar. What the fock? Okay, itís good to have it but dayum there is a lot of sweetness on this brew. The finesse you adore of France is missing, itís a caramel onslaught that defies the refinement of your youth. Is this what Americaís all about? You sink into a deep depression, only playing the Knitting Factory in the early 1990ís and trying to resolve your disconnect between your own French culture and the brashness of New York City. It hits you, sure, but are they really enjoying every element as a note unto its own? You wander those streets, through battery park, up to the upper west side, finally to Harlem and Washington Heights where things just seem so unfamiliar to your Eurocentric values. You wander into one of those Harlem clubs where they give you the stink eye and you just buy a soda water and sit there while the folks play. Their intensity, their opacity, it hits you - itís all here. Itís intense, not too complex nor nuanced, but suddenly you get this overwhelming understanding of your sense of place. It may not be perfect, it may not be pretty; but hell as fuck you gots eleven point nine percent of decent barley wine here and it is not being demure, not flirtatious - it is simply inviting you in with confidence, a smile and a finger and a wag of the ass; here we go. There we go - weíre gone. Youíre not going back. It may not be as suave as your Parisian grandmasters but god damn, there is something decent going on here and that sure as hell is enough for you and yours.

On tap at Kufle i Kapsle. Cereal grain, pumpernickel, red wine, and very low butterscotch oak aroma. Cloudy bronze under a thin, off-white collar. Sweet pumpernickel and red wine flavour with slight, sherry like nutty accents and a moderate bitterness. Smooth, slightly warming, low carbonation, full body.
