3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MOLA_DK (105) - DENMARK - MAR 31, 2012
Bottle at home. Pours clear amber with a small long lasting white head. Aroma is full of fruity notes. Taste is almost overwhelming, quite sweet, almost like an ice wine loads of fruit in the taste aswell. Just a hint of bitterness at the end, but aftertaste is all sweet and fruity. Intense and fantastic!
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 alexsdad06 (2344) - Ohio, USA - MAR 30, 2012
Bottle courtesy of daknole. Pours a cloudy deep amber brown color with maybe a couple small bubbles. The aroma is big sweet malty, caramel, ripe fruits, grapes, apples, port and a splash of orange. The flavor has a big sweet caramel base ripe fruits, port, thick and syrupy; everything is over the top. This is would be perfect for a cool late fall/early winter night in front of a fire after a big dinner. We probably could have sat on this for a few years and still enjoyed it.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 erickok (1074) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 23, 2012
Brown, clear body with no head whatsoever. Sugared orange, vanilla, rum soaked raisins, dark grapes, hint of bitterness. Nice. Taste is powerful sweet, with a full, somewhat sticky body. Rich fruity flavour with a tang at the end. Not overly alcoholic but certainly warming. Drinks like a desert wine or a flavourful mead. Complex and refined. Compared to De Molen’s other outstanding barley wines this is sweeter and hides the alcohol even more. Amazing brew, if you treat it for what it is. (33cl bottle)
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 kaser (237) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 22, 2012
Poured amber from a bottle. No head. Not much smell. Apricot and slightly malty taste. Not terrible but wouldn't have again. Expected worse

Full bodied, cloudy orange colour with almost no head. Nose is very fruity and sweet, also alcohol notes are observed. Taste is really sweet, fruity and very malty, reminds me to moscatel wine. Quite like a liquour.

75cl bottle @ Monks Sveavägen. #407/432 brewed 08 March 2010. Red colour with no head. Malty caramel aroma. Very nice taste, reminds me of port. Doesn’t taste of alcohol despite the strength.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Rettep (977) - SWEDEN - MAR 7, 2012
Bottle, brewed 19 Jan 2011, #348/792.
Reddish amber, small porous off-white head that dissolves into a ring.
Aroma: malty, toffee, floral, vinous, dried fruits.
Taste: sweet, honey, toffee, dried pineapple/apricot, earthy, vanilla, warming alcohol.
Full-bodied, sticky.
Sure, this one would surely benefit from being aged a bit longer, but I was in the mood for it. Already very nice.
4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sammer (750) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Taste is dark plums, raisins and brown sugar. Complex and interesting, it is everything one would want in a fine craft beer. Loved it.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Mortlach (436) - Rome, ITALY - FEB 21, 2012
31/12/2010 New Year’s Eve (2008 Vintage bottle, 750ml). Pericolosamente alcolica.
