There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer. ABV on the label reduced from 15 to 11.9%. Recipe remains the same

On tap. Pours a clear dark brown with light head. Aromas of cola, candu sugar, and dark sweet malts. Flavors of brown sugar, spicy candy canes, orange, and dry toasted malts. Wonderful.

Pours copper redish with light beige head. Flanky sweaty socks nose. Sweet full body round, panforte fruity with dried raisins and almond. Mild plain aftertaste....

Small frothy offwhite head. Fair lacing. Mostly diminishing. Reddish brown, murky, thick body. Aroma: moderate malt, port ruby, grapes, cream cheese, re fruits. Initial flavor: moderate sweet light bitter. Final flavor: heavy sweet light bitter and very light astringent; long duration. Palate: medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation and heavy alcoholic metallic finish. Malty sweetness brings something weird, butterish. Light astringency is plum-like. Very alcoholic, doesn’t conceal it. Fruity sweetness also brings parmesan cheese to mind. 110s gbp9

Wow! This was my first barley wine, and what an introduction to this style this was! An absolute winner.

Many thanks to my "EU Santa 2015" MrHangover for this bottle! The beer is smooth and sweetish sticky. Brown sugar with caramel. Not too much bitterness, round but sweetish-sticky. Sugar sweetish remainings on the tongue.

Bottle from Apr 2013. Look: Hazy dark amber beer without head. Aroma: mature chees with fruit jam. Taste: sweet with prominent grassy bitterness. Flavour: ripe fruits, jam, fresh ground black pepper, allspice, grassy spicy hop. Good but not too complex for 15,2%

Bouteille récente. À faire vieillir au moins une dizaine d’année car trop jeune telle quelle. Nez : nez archi caramel, fruits confits : pommes. Ici, trop d’alcool brut.
