COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thereís plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. Itís powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, itís our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer.

Dark clear ruby color with some foam. Sweet malty smell. The taste is insanely creamy with an accompanying sweetness and a decent but fitting carbonation. Extremely balanced beer.

0,33 l bottle from EDEKA Mohr, bottled on 9/4/2013. Clear, luscious reddish amber with just a thin, soapy, tan layer. Sweetish aroma of raisins, strawberry jam, bitter almond, plum brandy, cinnamon and caramel with some alcoholic notes in the end. Very sweet taste of strawberry jam, molasses, bourbon, bitter almond, rum, plums and raisins. Long, warming but not overly alcoholic finish. Full body, oily and chewy mouthfeel, completely flat. Great barleywine, very complex but still harmonic, almost unexpectedly the alcohol does not dominate it. A sipper, not quaffable at all. Liked it!

Reddish brown with a thin frothy head. Aroma of fruit preserves. Taste is sweet, sticky and easy to drink for a strong beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, systembolaget. Clear copper, yeast at the bottom, minimal white head. Aroma of bready, grainy, caramelly malt, dried apricots, mandarin. Taste is big on malty flavours, caramel, dark fruit, slight bitterness thatís growing to the finish with some dark fruit and slight (albeit very faint) alcohol. Medium to big body, low carbo, sticky texture. Well composed, well hidden alcohol.

Mindblowing! Extremely drinkable for 15,2% ABV! In aroma sweet tangerines, caramel, some mango, very pleasant, absolutely no alcohol. I think I moved some yeast from bottles bottom - beer is quite hazy. It has copper color, nice tan head leaving very nice lacing on the glass. For this ABV - head is long lasting. Taste is amazing: itís dry! How they hided this alcohol? In first taste weíve get a lot of carmelized tangerines. Next accent is caramel - light, not burned. In third taste bitterness is nicely countering caramel malt, but itís not dominating. Aside from sweet tangerines in aroma, in taste weíve got also so figs and hints of raisins. Alcohol is accented in back of throat. Beer is full and oily, but not too sweet. Carbonation is low, which, in this case, is great. Beer bottled on 28-01-2015. Amazing, almost session barleywine. Unusual, but brilliant!

330ml bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Clear, copper colour. No head. Buttery, granary bread malts. Smells like Wards brewery, which is a really good thing. On top of that, thereís sweet, baked apple. Raisins. Vanilla. All very decadent, and pudding like. Drinks rich, smooth, robust, and at the same time, quite fresh, fruity, and well under the ABV. Opened this to supposedly sip. Didnít quite work out that way...
