COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer. ABV on the label reduced from 15 to 11.9%. Recipe remains the same

Dark amber colour, small white head. Aroma of citrus hops (orange, lemon), caramel, hay, apple and champagne yeast. Taste is very sweet but the sweetness calmes down after a few sips. Kinda bitter and vinous, almost a little bit tart.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2016 Mooi rood oranje kleurig bier met fijne witte schuimkraag. Heel weinig carbonatie. Aroma en smaken van aardbei, confituur, mandarijn, caramel. Tegen het likeurachtige aan. Super zacht. Zoet, nooit de indruk dat je zo een zwaar bier aan het drinken bent. Heel subtiel bittertje op het eind. Absoluut top.

Sample at Hair Of The Dog during the Brouwerij de Molen and Shiga Kogen Tap Takeover on 07/30/2016. The beer pours amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. The aroma consists of ripe fruit, yeast and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of fruity yeast, malt, earthy hops and caramel. The finish is fruity and malty. Pretty good overall.

On tap at HOTD. Pours a amber color with a small white head. A big sugary nose, toast, dark fruit. Sugary berries, leather, big bursting sweet malt. A lovely palate, soft and smooth. Very drinkable. Awesome beer.

July 31, 2016 - on tap at HOTD. Light brown pour with limited head. Aroma and taste of sweetness, dark fruit, alcohol and some wood. Nicely balanced, one of best non-BA barley wines I have tasted.

On tap at Hair of the Dog. Colour...cloudy, ruddy amber with a thin head. Nose...boiled sweets, malt syrup and medijool dates. Palate...quite sweet and fruity up front with malted milk powder, Woppers and grain. The mid palate offers dryness but with sweetness still present. The finish is long, slightly bitter-sweet and mildly cloying.

Hazy tangerine pour with quickly fading off-white head. Nose is molasses, banana, berry, and apricot. Flavour is moderate-heavy sweet with notes of tangerine, apple, dried apricots, banana, and hints of sour in the background. Smooth mouthfeel. A little sweet for my taste but well balanced.
