COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer.

Bottle 75cl.
My beer rating #5900. Light unclear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, excellent lacing, fully - mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy yeasty, fruity, mandarine, apple porridge, alcohol, barley wine. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft - flat. Very nice and lovely. (140908)

Bottled. A hazy dark red beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, liquor, and some caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, alcohol, liquor, and some hops, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy deep golden with a basically absent head. Intense aroma of fruit and malt with a whiff of yeast. Very full-bodied - almost syrupy - with plenty of fruit. No bitterness but an almost peppery burning alcohol on my lips. This is almost a fruit liqueur. Lovely! 140908

Bottled, thanks jbrus! Amber colour, not too much head. Aroma is hops, grass, alcohol, yeast, lingonberry and quite much raisins. Flavour is alcohol, fruits, hops lingonberry and some mild yeast as well as grass. Strong stinging sweetness in the finish.

Bottled, thanks mybestfriend! Hazy amber, no head. Super-mega-sweet. Over-malty extra full body loaded with syrup and sugar. Yellow plums that gets lost in an arousing mess of all things sweet. Finishes with ink, alcohol warmth and stickyness. Just way too sweet - the sensory overload causes all details to get lost.

Bottle at EBF08. Fruity and citric aroma, citrus fruits. Cloudy orange colour. Very small white head, seems creamy. Very nice flavour, powerful. Very sweet, syrupy. Quite fruity, some orange. The alcohol is distinct and warming, but not rough or bitter.

Hazy red-amber color, flat. Strange aroma, sweet and alcoholic, with nuts and high carb fruits (yam, durian, chestnuts). Good body strength, the flavor is very sweet, malt and caramel, some fudge and sweet nuts, quite evident alcohol perception.
Cloying, confused. The bottled serving is better.

2009-05-16, 33cl bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2009, 7-4-8-4-16=39
Flat hazy amber color. The aroma has light vegetables, but the flavor is very good, strong malt, very sweet, syrupy, with good bitterness. Not overwhelming, but very good for a Barley Wine lover like me.
