COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer.

A true contender for the title of Best Beer In The World--its muscular strength carrying a boatload of resonant fruity, herbal and malty flavors. Only complaint is that you can’t find it in every nightshop or 7-11.

Poured in a small INAO wine glass. Orange color, no foam, almost no bubbles. Date, maple syrup, fruit cake and a lot of malty and yeasty notes invade your nose! And in mouth, fantastic complexity. Like a sweet "Botrytised Barley wine" (if it existed, that would be that Bomb). Actually: caramalised prune, rhumed raisins, overriped fruit. I just love it ! Some people say it’s not a beer ! If it’s not a beer, I may not like beers ... Cheers

33cl Bottle - Vintage 2011 - Pours deep orange/amber with no head, just some hazy impressions. Nose of raisins, caramel, madeira, malt, peach, orange peel. Taste is so full bodied; massive sweetness from the beginning, mid tones of biterness and alcohol, medium dry finish. Taste of raisins (makes me think about a Loire sweet wine, type alike Quarts De Chaume - pourriture noble of Chenin), orangette (orange peel confit)... Niiiiice sweet desert beer

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2011 75cl bottle bought @Brasserie 4:20 (Rome) - Intense orange-cognac color. The aroma is deep, strong, persistent. Dark fruits, mostly cherry and caramel. The taste is sweet too and fruity but delicate, not so strong as I imagined. Full body, incredibly dense, no foam. It seems a sort of Passito di Pantelleria or Sciachetrà delle Cinque Terre. What a good Barley Wine!!

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2009 Bottle at the Alvinne pre Zythos event 09. I spent 10 minutes wandering around talking to people about this as I had no idea what it was, what it should taste like, because my tastebuds had just gone into bizarre-land and I had no point of reference. No idea it was this strong either or the story behind the beer. I ended up saying to Menno that this was as good as any dry Oloroso sherry that I’d had or some sweet Aussie wines from NW Victoria. Ruby, no head. It’s like a dessert wine. Just a stunning beautiful, brown sugar beer with some dryness on finish and bit of hop sting. Glorious and a bit of calvados/tangerine fruit. Wonderful. 4.3/5. 75cl bottle from Kulminator 30/10/09. Even better than earlier this year. When I saw this in De Molen’s shop the next day at 12.50 euros a 75cl bottle I thought it was a complete steal. I wish I could do justice to the complex fruit and warming feel it gives you without ever having a single bit of alcohol heat anywhere near it. So smooth it has no burn. Truly amazing and utterly one of my favourite beers. Dessert beer in a glass. Bring on the chocolate torte.

Taste is dark plums, raisins and brown sugar. Complex and interesting, it is everything one would want in a fine craft beer. Loved it.

Bottle, kindly shared by MesandSim in the Wellington, Birmingham. Delicious rose beer. Smooth, so mellow. Lots of flavour: rosehip, christmas cake etc. Rooty, sweet, smooooooth. Mahoghany colour. So good - cannot believe it is so strong.
