COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer.

Clear copper pour with a small, oily, beige head. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, rum booziness, brown sugar, planty, spicy and piney hops. Flavor is soft caramel, light toffee and toast up front, then light toasted cedar wood, mellow and sweet vinous notes, toffee nuts, sweet citrus, some earthy and herbal hops. Medium to heavy body, creamy, oily and chewy feel, light, blanketing carbonation, creamy to oily finish. Great stuff overall, odd though, big, sweet, boozy nose leading to a surprisingly easy going, smooth flavor profile and palate.

Whoa! this is a Wiley monster. Poured with a traditional tiny fine off-white head, a little lace and a hazy/cloudy dark honey amber color. Aroma is wet grain, malt, figs, a bit of citrus, a hint of yeast. flavor is like aroma but the first thing that jumps out is the sweet tartness. The citrus is an interesting twist for Barley Wine. It pretty much Hides most of the Malt. The body is perfect. Alcohol is well hidden. This is a good ass Beer, By cracky. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas of dried fruit and light citrus. The taste was not as heavy as I thought it would be. With good fruity flavor and tiny hints of orange. Not well hopped, but only moderately. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth a weak moment. Does it loses flavor quite quickly but to be so strong, I think it was approved. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle. Heavy to harsh cookie and caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy cooked orange for the hops, moderate dough and leather for the yeast, with dried fig, dates and cherry, and brown sugar. There was no head, and color is muddy dark brown. Flavor starts heavily to harshly sweet, then finishes heavily sweet and lightly bitter. Palate is medium to full, syrupy, with no carbonation and has a moderately alcoholic finish. A little cloying, and I missed the carbonation from letting this Barley Wine age, but this is a massively tasty beer.

330 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 8/24/2011. Pours hazy/cloudy dark ruby red color with minimal head or lacing. Some light carbonation bubbles linger at the surface. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, light leather, herbal, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark fruitiness and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, light leather, herbal, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of dark fruitiness and rich dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light carbonation and very full bodied; with very slick and fairly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice English barleywine. All around good complexity and balance of dark fruitiness and rich dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
