There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer.

Very fruity aroma, but i can sense some hop in there :) nice amber colour, offwhite foam. Very "round" taste, mild. The taste lasted very long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Heavy to harsh cookie and caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy cooked orange for the hops, moderate dough and leather for the yeast, with dried fig, dates and cherry, and brown sugar. There was no head, and color is muddy dark brown. Flavor starts heavily to harshly sweet, then finishes heavily sweet and lightly bitter. Palate is medium to full, syrupy, with no carbonation and has a moderately alcoholic finish. A little cloying, and I missed the carbonation from letting this Barley Wine age, but this is a massively tasty beer.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy amber with a little sediment and a white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma and flavour are caramel, yeast, fruit, and alcohol - with a slightly alcoholic finish.

330 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 8/24/2011. Pours hazy/cloudy dark ruby red color with minimal head or lacing. Some light carbonation bubbles linger at the surface. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, light leather, herbal, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark fruitiness and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, light leather, herbal, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of dark fruitiness and rich dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light carbonation and very full bodied; with very slick and fairly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice English barleywine. All around good complexity and balance of dark fruitiness and rich dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a Snifter. Bottled in February 2012. Deep, hazy amber colour with a golden hue. Thin, off-white head. Sweet aroma with rich malts, oranges - other overripe, sweet fruits - mandarins, apples and light yeasts. Taste is sweet . rather heavy, still great. Full body with an oily texture and a soft bordering flat carbonation. Very rich. Long lasting sweet finish, only a discrete bitterness. Some warmth from the alcohol. Alcohol is otherwise hidden. A big, rich, filling beer. Excellent.
