There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer. ABV on the label reduced from 15 to 11.9%. Recipe remains the same

Very fruity aroma, but i can sense some hop in there :) nice amber colour, offwhite foam. Very "round" taste, mild. The taste lasted very long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

butelka, warka do 28-01-2040 ;) Bardzo ladne, brazowo-czerwone piwo, ieco metne (spore drobinki lataja niestety po nim) z super piana, taka do krojenia nozem.

Draught @ Cph festival. Appearance: pours slightly hazy amber with minimal off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, citrus and lots of sweet fruits. palette strong yeasty and malty aroma, average carbonation, full body, average to notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by an average bitterness, medium to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: powerful barley wine, just way top sweet

Bottle, bottled 28.01.2015. 32°, 30 IBU. 48 EBC, 15,2 ABV. Pours dark amber with no head. Aroma is very sweet with fruity notes including grapes and some honey. Very sweet, with perfectly hidden alcohol, which can be noticed mainly due to warming sensation during drinking. Full bodied, oily, even syrupy, with soft, almost flat carbonation.

Bottled 330ml. -Courtesy of hrabren, shared with him and Marko (thanks!) Dark amber coloured, minimal off-white head, parmesan and alcohol in the nose. Heavy malty, dried fruits, not so strong alcohol and odd parmesan touch with notes of caramel in rather dry sweet finish. Hmmm...just hmmm

Sweet, fruit, yeast, caramel.

Amber/brown yeast-filled beer with a slight off-white head.

Really really sweet, syrup-like palate, very deep and fruity, slightly bitter at the end.

0.33 l bottle from Hoppiness, Koper, Slovenia. Dark hazy amber, some yeast floating, small off white to tan head. Strong aroma, cheese, salted meat, dry fruits, plums, biscuit. Salty, sweet, candy, fruit, some dryness, cherry maybe. Alcohol heavily present. Especially in the finish.

Thanks Hrabren! Shared with him, Ogivlado and Anja T. 30°, 30 IBU. 48 EBC. Columbus / Saaz. Red-amber clearish body, slightly off white body. Aroma... parmesan, fucking parmesan... what the hell? A little pancetta too, heavy, heavy, heavy ethanol too, vague sweetish notes - caramel mostly, vague pollen. Complex, not that pleasant. Sweet, too sweet taste, there’s a grapey, soft, nice note, but it ends in sticky sweet caramelly hell, notes of cherries, thankfully the alcohol is mostly missing in the taste, but it shows up in the finish. Actually quite pleasant taste considering the unpleasantish taste.

A 2013-as palack felnyitását követően vaskos, súlyos aromák cammognak ki komótosan korábbi lakhelyükről, a hab nélküli főzet rezes árnyalatú, gesztenye beütésű, vörösesbarna színben állapodik meg a pohárban, melynek fala a mázsás súlyok alatt épphogy repedezni nem kezd. Igazi brit stílusú aromahenger szirupos, mézes, barna tésztájú kekszes illatjegyekkel, likőrös fátyolfelhővel, tekintélyt parancsoló keménységgel. Keserédes zamatai gyógynövénylikőrös fürdőben hemperegnek, tonnányi maláta súlya alatt roskadoznak, némi sós karamella emlékképét hordozzák, majd tartalommal teli, kerekded keserűség képében intenek búcsút. Kirobbanóan telt, mégis klasszikus vonalvezetésű ízvilága igen megnyerő; a szinte már kiugróan magas, mégis alig észrevehető alkoholtartalom és az érlelődésre való nagyfokú hajlandóság nem mindennapi sörré teszik a De Molen barley wine-ját.

Keg at the Arendsnest. Hazed reddy amber coloured pour with a lasting frothy light tan head. Aroma is rounded sugars, brown sugar, toffee, dried apple. Flavour is composed of sticky toffee pudding, caramel, raisin and dried fruit, little blood / metallic in the finish. Palate is medium sticky sweet, but lovely pillowy carbonation stops it being too cloying. Lovely and rounded, full if flavour and remains pretty smooth for the abv.
