A Mes rate. Draught at Mikkeller.
Fully black with a very thin but virtually solid tan head. Slick and viscous, loads of fruit, much more so than usual for a De Molen beer. Excellent roasty malt and plenty of the barrel showing. Slight vanilla and a spicy almost peaty finish. Menno does make better stouts but he certainly doesn’t make any bad ones.

5th May 2010. Mikkeller Bar. Copenhagen. Opaque black beer. Totally flat. Dark malt, a whisper of smoky peat. Some lactose sweetness. Didn’t inspire me as much as it did others.

Ungstrup (29369) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 8, 2010
Draft. A pitch black beer with only a rim of brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, soy sauce, roasted malt, over ripe fruits, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of ashes, burnt and roasted malt, wood, whiskey, soy sauce, and fruit as well as hints of smoke, leading to a dry roasted and woody finish.
