Draught at Mikkeller Bar, opening night
two samples, the first was given as Den Hemmelige Sky

Black color. Aroma of chocolate and caramel, with light phenols. Sweet chocolate flavor, with caramel, light liquorice and some wood effect. The final is correctly bitter, with dark caramel, a bit salty. Very good. (8-4-8-4-16)

Tap at Mikkeller. Jet black with minimal head. Smells sweet and sugary with loads of vanilla, raspberries, cacao and milk chocolate. There is something unattractive in the nose... Taste is smooth, sweet and creamy but the lack of carbonation makes the alcohol more present then I like. Flavour and taste is alright.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Almost black without a head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, chocolate, coffee, woody notes). Flavor medium to heavy sweet, yet quite balanced, with a hint of alcohol. Full body, quite flat, some alcohol felt.

I had this on tap at Mikkeller. A pitch black pour, but with a disappointing total lack of carbonation...The aroma is medium but super sweet with tons of vanilla, brown sugar, and bourbon. No coffee or bitterness to balanced the sweetness, lacking here...The taste is a let down as the aroma is so much better, its almost dead, just not a lot of flavor here. Light coffee and bourbon, where’d all the sweetness go, wanted some to go, not all. A decent ba with the aroma, but enough taste to seek out.

Mmm I believe it is barrell aged in port wine barrels which lends this glass of darkness a delectable sweetness which balances nicely with the high alcohol procent. I’m a sucker for these imperial stouts with a slight roastyness, coupled with the dark malt flavors. Overall a good beer, which scores extra points for only being available at mikkeller bar in denmark
