Enticing and complex aroma conjures suggestions of grapefruit, marzipan, leafy tobacco, perfume, lavender soap and pastry dough. Hazy tan body with low, dense and lasting, off-white head. Strong citrus, banana, leafy character and peppery spiciness all vie for attention in the leadup to the moderately bitter finish. Cake-like yeastiness is pervasive. Sharp, pointy, initially aggressive carbonation detracts somewhat from overall enjoyment but subsides in time. Sampled at GBBF 2005.

Frothy, creamy white head. Lasts and forms a cobweb. Floral and herbal aroma. Spicies are felt: quite some coriander. Perfumes. Very pleasant, lively mouthfeel. Very hoppy, bitter flavors. A bit sweet as well. Feels coriander and herbs. Long bitter finish. Very well complements a dinner!

Bottle (GBBF): Musty nose. Hazy gold with a white head. Medium bodied. Sweet berries, spice, dusty wood. Nice old character. Interesting.

Bottle at GBBF 05. Spicy aroma. Slightly lemony, faintly tart falvour, with some cakey sweetness to finish. A slightly astringent mixture. Average Belgian (stye) ale.

Bottled - GBBF 2005. A hazy amber coloured beer with a little whitish head. The aroma is quite boring and non-descript. The taste is a bit yeasty and lemony. Quite dull really.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2007 Bottled. Pepper, coreander, sweet fruits quite complex aroma. Dark yellow color, hazy, off-white head, few lace. Sweet, light bitterness to bitter in the finish, fruity, pineapple?, peppery finish, little sticky. Not bad at all but so spicy that I couldn’t drink it all evening.
