From tap. Pours hazy to murky orange to brown with a lacing tan. Mild nutty and yeasty aroma with a lot of caramel and mild hoppy aromas. Flavour is nutty and medium dry caramel malty with a lurking sweetness. Light warming alcohol presence. Smooth yeasty and hoppy finish.

Draft. An unclear amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has both sweet and acidic notes as well as notes of wood and vanilla. The flavor is sweet and very malty combined with notes of alcohol and wood, leading to a very bitter finish. Nice body.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2008 Bottle 75 cl. Comes as "De Molen Borefts Turf Bock 2008". Pours very cloudy and opaque orangey brown with a dense and creamy beige head leaving some lacework. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium body, sweetish roasted malt but quite surprisingly also burned malts and an ashy edge. The finish is dry with a slightly ashy malt bitterness. A very atypical Bock. 241208

(On tap) Hazy, muddy golden with a rough off-white head. Malty aroma with some alcohol. Medium body with sweetish roasted malt but appears a little tired on my palate. Dry and lightly bitter finish. For once a disappointing De Molen.6/2/6/3/11=2.8 120908

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2009 On tap at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. An orange-golden beer, hazy, with a nice beige head. Pleasant sweetish nose with malts, caramel and a fruity touch. The flavor has sweetness and fruityness in a fine blend, but is mostly on the sweet side. Full-bodied, with a long, sweet finish. A good bock from the Netherlands. Rating: 7-4-7-4-14-3.6. ?)

Bottle, 33cl. An almost clear, copper colored beer with a creamy, beige head. Caramel nose with some chocolate and bready notes. Sweet, yet dryish flavor with roasted malts and some chocolate. Full body. The finish is dry and roasted, with some caramel. A nice bock, but nothing extraordinary. 090619
