Bottle@Home. I really had to get used to this one. I was expecting a Bock but it’s so different from any main stream bock. But I liked it! Very floral, light grassy and a hint of grass aroma. Cloudy, chestnut colour, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, sourish, very bitter, light fruity, nuts, grass. Dry mouth feel.

Bottled, 330ml from Burg Bieren, Ermelo, Netherlands. Dark chestnut with cream head. Immediate impression was of a soft, fruity beer, dates, plums interlaced with a red wine alcohol note. Fullish on the palate with a good roasty malt note, some latent sweetness, just enough. An accomplished beer, very tasty, but not similar to many bocks I have had before.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel dark fruit aroma with weak hints of licorice. Fruity malty spicy caramel flavor with yeasty hints and hints of dark fruit. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel finish.

Clear, amber body with a brown creamy head - long lasting. Full aroma of cara and burnt malts, smoke, grapes, fruit, ... Very complex and interesting nose. Heavily bitter, lightly sweey flavour: very nice and well balanced. Brilliant by being simple.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 30/0911, at Pikkulintu, 20110923) The beer poured dark brown and hazy. Its head was large, white and long lasting. Aroma had molasses, malts and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, mild roastedness, yeast and bitterness. Aftertaste was yeasty, malty and bitter. The Belgian style yeast flavour and aroma pushed this beer very far from any bock.

33 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu. BBE 30.09.2011
Pours hazy red-brown colour with large foamy head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, light fruits, spices and yeast. Flavour of metal, sweet malts, ripe fruits and some toffee. Harsh bitterness and metal dominates the flavour too much. A bit disappointing.

330ml bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours dark brown with a massive foamy head. Aroma has notes of caramel malts and chocolate. Taste is quite a mess with notes of malts, stingy sourness and alcohol. Finish is metallic with warming alcohol. Not very balanced, perhaps aged a bit too long.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2012 330 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu, Helsinki. BBE 30.9.2011.
Pours a dirty brown colour with a large foamy head. Aroma of sweet dried fruits and some floral notes. Flavour of sweet dried fruits, grassy hops, toasted malts and some weird skunky notes. Tastes old. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and a finish of weird malts and old hops. This has clearly had it’s best days.

Bottle. It’s a mini-gusher forming a creamy, light beige head on top of a clear, amber body. It’s candy-sweetish on the nose, and slightly sour milk resembling. That goes for the flavor too, where there’s also some caramel and a nice bitterness. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Overall, too sweetish and sugary for a bock beer, but it’s nice anyway. 110401

12/13/12/13/11/13
