33cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear brown colour, thick beige head. Aroma of hops, mandarin, orange and grapefruit, caramel and some roasted malts. Flavour is light sweet, dark fruits, caramel, citrussy hops, bit earthy grapefruit hoppy bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Nice, but a bit too hoppy imo.

75 cl bottle @ home shared with my dad (probably his first De Molen beer ever). Nice dark amber color, big little bit soapy off-white head. Smell malts, some caramel and lightly hops. Taste sweet, malts, a little bit overripe fruits. Firm carbonation, medium body.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass not as dark as exspected, huge head. Starts strong, malty, fine spicy. Not too roasty. Fine hoppy-dry background. Finish a bit scratchy, but still well balanced, some notes of caramel. Well done!

I think I had this at last festivals, but obviously I did not rate it. Well while waiting for the next occasion it’s time to check what was this again. Oh, very very big foamy head. Which tastes absolutely brilliant. Once the beer sets a little liquid looks mostly brown, with a hint red. Smell is malty and sweet. This beer might be the best bock I’ve had... well at least for while. Aromas include hoppy and malty thing, which are nice way in balance. There is caramel, bread, nuts, grass, citrus... Nice.

Bottle 750ml.

Clear medium to dark red amber colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, sugar, light roasted, light to moderate hoppy, soapy notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. It is almost borring but it works ! [20110518]

Bottle from Bier Koning. Hazy brown beer, decent palae tan head. Smooth palate. An even malt base is subservient to some mild but fresh hops. Orange and pineapple with a trace of pine. Very nicely joined up and highly drinkable.

Bottle that was very kindly passed onto me from Thomas at Merton Winter Beer Festival 05.02.11 cheers Thomas! I consumed this 09.02.11 Reddy brown in appearance with some light film for a head, tan in appearance. Touch smokey, some rubbery flavours, warmth from the alcohol, little citrus, molassess, nice beer. Thanks to Thomas big time for getting me this, cheers mate! A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.4

75cl. Bottle. The aroma has caramel malts, citric hops, little grass. Hazy, brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is moderate bitter, citric hoppy with caramel malts on the background. Like others said, this beer is quite hoppy for a dunkler bock. Enjoyable yes, but if you’re lookin for a bock, this would not be my pick.

A bock? Are you serious? Clearly more a modern ale with dark malts. Dark ruby colored with a light brown head. Aroma have strong citrus hint, very hoppy, light caramel. Taste is moderate sweet with a straight forward bitterness. Clearly light-years away from a bock. Useless, but not bad.
