Ungstrup (11338), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 6, 2007 Bottled. Ahazy brown beer with an ornage head. The aroma is sweet and quite herbal. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of caramel, flowers, and spices. Nice, but not roasted enough in my opinion to be a stout, but the drinability is high. Papsoe (10243), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 2, 2008 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Hazy reddish brown with a tall and lively beige head. Burned malt aroma with some vanilla. Medium-bodied with sweetish, hard roasted malts, ashes and vanilla accents. Soft mouthfeel and a discreet bitterness. 190608 yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 21, 2008 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy amber to brown with a creamy and tan head. Light vegetable and malt aroma. Flavour is mild roasted malt with a light chocolate note. Light roasted flavour that goes into a light bitterness. Dry roasted finish. Mild yeasty too. joergen (6529), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 23, 2008 Bottle.
Cloudy orange red coloured with a medium sized beige head.
Roasted aroma of caramel with notes of liquorice.
Roasted flavour of caramel, liquorice and hops.
Roasted finish. MiP (6017), Flensburg, Germany Jul 15, 2007 Bottle, 7.7%, Fruity aroma, a little sour rag. Almost black colour, with a dark brown shine. Big and quite stable grey/brown head. The flavour is roasted with some liquorice and some of the cardboard I often get in hombrewed and microbrewed stouts. Unpleasant cardboard and yeast notes. Late roast malt bitterness, quite peppery and rough. There is also some sourness in here that is fortunately hidden by other flavours. Thick mouthfeel. Flavourful, but not really my cup of stout.
