jerohen (1793) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - FEB 9, 2009
On draft at the brewery. Black appearance, brown head. Very complex nose, smoke, tar, malts. Bitter flavour, chcoclate, coffee, lasting finish, some lactic notes. Nice when taking just a few sips, but too heavy to enjoy a full glass of.

skortila (4160) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JAN 5, 2009
Bottled. Aroma has tobacco, cherry, red wine, licorice, roast and chocolate. Probably more, because it is quite complex. Dark brown/black coloured with a small, beige head. The taste has yeast, some heavy hops, chocolate, tobacco, wood, etc. Really complex. Bit too heavy when I had it. I agree with others before me, might be better (more balanced/a little smoother) after some ageing. For people who like the heavy american beer bombs, this one is definately a must.

thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2009
Bottle. Almost black with a small beige head. Tart berries, mainly sour cherries, but with added complexity. It gets even more exciting in the mouth, with oak balancing the tartness. Still very vinous. Drunk young, but the signs of greatness are already there

caesar (3748) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2008
Bottled, brought by NoiZe. Dark color, short head. Aroma of tobacco, malt, wood, whisky. Thick body, liquory, yeasty sour, licorice, hint of medicine. Probably drank quite young, so will rerate this. But for now it is a bit overdone.

Bullit (3285) - Burgos, SPAIN - DEC 27, 2008
Dark colour, small tan head. Aroma of sourcherry and malts. Flavour of red wine, sour cherry, yeast and malts. Like Cuvee 1, too much going on in here.

NoiZe (2325) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - DEC 20, 2008
Black colored brew. Aroma is sour, vinous. Flavor has got the wine-like sourness too. Some fruits and hints of coffee and licorice. I don’t like the wine-like sourness in this one (don’t like wine that much). Maybe I’got to let it age and try again. But it’s surely a complex brew.

bierkoning (8107) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - NOV 20, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2009 Bottle. Almost black, opague, no head. Dark chocolate, ash, oak and vinous notes in the aroma. Licorice. Black chocolate, Bordeaux wine, licorice, coffee, Assam tea and ash in the amazingly complex flavor. Hardly any carbon, almost flat in fact. Probably needs further cellaring, but this is an amazingly complex, very full bodied flavor bomb. From tap @ the brewery the beer proved to be well carbonated.
