From the 750ml bottle at the January Tucson tasting. Brown super chunky pour. Belgian yeast, chocolate, roasted grain and oak aroma. Taste has spicy Belgian notes, chocolate and roasted grain. Light body with lots of sweetness.

Draught at brewerypub. A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma is fruity, green appels with orange and citrus. Some notes of malts. The taste is sweet with bitter and it moves over to oak with fruits and malts. The aftertaste has some sweets with bitterness.

Murky brown, thin tan head, very light lacing.
Aroma is of chocolate, coffee, light roast, quite vineous.
Flavour is thin, vineous, some sourness, light alcohol, light roast, chocolate.
Sour mouth, med/light body, med carb.
Finishes acidic, long, some warmth.

The barrel didn’t do this one any good. Took pretty much all the body away.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with bierkoning, thanks Edo.

Opened on September 22, 2009.

Bottled on October 30, 2008. Bottle #216/230.

jerohen (1793) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - FEB 9, 2009
On draft at the brewery. Black appearance, brown head. Very complex nose, smoke, tar, malts. Bitter flavour, chcoclate, coffee, lasting finish, some lactic notes. Nice when taking just a few sips, but too heavy to enjoy a full glass of.

austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - MAY 22, 2009
75cl. bottle nro #108. Near black, foamy dark beige head. Roasty nose, sourish smooth liqurice, stomach acids if nicely put, faint oak and smoke. Flavor is sourish maltiness, licorice, little vinous notes and raisiny fruitiness. Medium to full bodied, heavily carbonated palate. Strange and funky Impy of some sort, first version was more vinous.

Black with no head almost. Thick. powdery, coffee beans, lot of smoke. Kine of wine like. Something to try, but not for me. It is like a wine without wine.
