On draft at the brewery. Black appearance, brown head. Very complex nose, smoke, tar, malts. Bitter flavour, chcoclate, coffee, lasting finish, some lactic notes. Nice when taking just a few sips, but too heavy to enjoy a full glass of.

Bottled. Quite much black colour with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is alcohol, acidic fruits, coffee and some chocolate. Flavour is coffee, some sour fruits, chocolate, licorice and mild notes of alcohol. This was a bit "empty" still, maybe needs some aging.

Bottle, 11.5%. Roasted and sweet liquorice aroma. Muddy very dark brown colour. Very small light brown head. The flavour has some liquorice and yeast. Also quite citric. Roasted aftertaste.

Corked and caged 750mL bottle releases the cork easy enough but then it slowly oozed with foam for a good half hour. The resulting pours were murky with sludgy floaty sedimentation. It has a dark brown body and rocky tan head. The aroma has dusty notes, dark roasted malts, chocolate and mild tart red wine notes followed by chocolate malt balls and boozy heat. The taste is not so good as I heard someone mention and I agree. It has dusty yeasty dry notes, dark roasted malts, some chocolate and then semi tart red wine. Wow, the bottle states this 2008 vintage is good for 25 years. It fell a touch short.

Black with no head almost. Thick. powdery, coffee beans, lot of smoke. Kine of wine like. Something to try, but not for me. It is like a wine without wine.

Bottled. Hazy brown coloured. Very yasty aroma and flavour with notes of peas from the glass. Some roastiness. Unbalanced and unpleasant.
