UPDATED: JAN 20, 2011 Bottle at a tasting. Bottled 8/25/08. Cellared 12/2/08. Black-colored with a light brown head. Aroma of oak, a bit of bretty hints and vinous fruitiness. Sweetish-sourish flavor with oak, berries, other fruits and a drier, more sourish finish with a bit of roasty notes. Full-bodied. Lovely.

Bottle, courtesy of Beeranarchist. Black pour, small-medium tan head. Quite opaque. Aroma is rather belgian and oaky, with a lot of subtle roast, while also being flowery and slightly sour. Taste is similar to aroma, with a fair bit of sweetness but with more roast and malty stuff. Also oak and port with some slightly yeasty characteristics as well. Low carbonation, medium body, long duration.

Deep nut brown with a dense small light brown head. Aroma is roasted, chocolate, lots of oak and vanilla, dark berries, dark fruits, aging really shines through. Gorgeous smell. Taste is nice and roasted, has both a belgian yeast characteristic and an american roasted touch, extremely well done barrel aging, dark dried fruits, nice yeast sweetness, oak, vanilla, port like, a little spicey, maybe cinnamon. God øl.

’08 Bottle, tfs Vaiz (en Noize)! Deep black creamy pour, medium sized, creamy tanned head which slowly dissipates. Aroma is oak, liquorice, peat, smoke, oak, caramel, burned malt, salt/umami, wine, dried fruit, mussels. Flavour is salty liquorice, umami, sweet liquorice, (roasted) malts, red fruits (wine), spices. Very very smooth palate. Awesome.

Bottle, vintage august 2008, thanks NoiZe! Dark brown pour, thin tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, chocolate, dark fruits, roasted malts, red wine, port, butter and some alcohol. Complex and very nice. Flavor is slightly sweet fruity and with caramel and somewhat more bitter in the finish with coffee, red wine and licorice. Very nice balance. Creamy texture and low to average carbonation. Aging for two years has made this one excellent. Best of the best.

25.4 oz bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, oak and plum. Soft and creamy with a vinous tang. Taste is bittersweet chocolate and chianti. As it warms some caramel and raisin emerge. Finishes with earthy coffee, lightly sour.
