The first tastes are boozy, but also chocolate, bitter, licqour, little smokey, some ruby red, but the taste develops and after half a bottle (room temp, at home), it kicks in properly: wow. This is amazing. It seemed out of balance. But then it somehow seems to be together. ---Rated via Beer Buddy (iOs)

Opaque dark brown with no head. Nice sweet aroma youd expect from something barrel-aged, very pleasant. Sweet, then a bit oily, then a kick of sweet wine/sherry with a hint of candy sugar, with an undertone of bitter chocolate, ending with an alcoholic burn. It isnt entirely harmonious.

Pours opaque, very dark brown. No head. Lots of legs. Aroma is mostly alcohol and a bit of fruit jam. The smoked malts and the otherwise very vegetal finish arent very harmonious. Very sweet. Good try, but doesnt work.

0,33l fles gedeeld met lion. Zwart met een bruine kraag. Smaak en geur met vingerverf en stroop cacao. Koffie in de afdronk. Niet echt geslaagd bier

330ml bottle. pours completely pitch black. Aroma is charcoal, smoke, incredibly bitter chocolate and something rather tart at the end almost akin to malt vinegar. taste is incredibly smoky. very alcoholic. almost sour its so smoky and dry/ash. not my thing.

Eructoblaster (3358) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 12, 2015
Bottle - 330ml. Opaque black body with low carbonation and no head at all. Fantastic, complex malty/hoppy aroma with Bourbon, chocolate, oaky, and some subtle vanilla hints. Its well balanced taste carries oaky, plummy, and vineous notes. Ends with a long, robust, warming, bittersweet finish. Very enjoyable.

330ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Black with beige head that quickly disappears and leaves a ring. Malty aroma, chocolate, caramel, some wood and alcohol, like brandy, green apple fruity. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma but with much more apple and some coffee notes. Medium oily body with soft to flat carbonation.

gyllenbock (5796) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 24, 2015
Bottle from Bierkompass, bought in January 2015. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of ash, alcohol, chocolate, oak and roasted malt. Similar taste. The body was medium and the mouthfeel smooth. Not a bad one although a bit "different".

@ Gyllenbock 15-3-23: stor spritig doft. Smaken är lite udda med stora toner av aska, arrak, sprit och kanske på väg att vända. Lite romaktiga eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Bottle at the Castle Tap, Reading. Brown-black with no head. Smells very boozy indeed- big aroma of port. Vintage port on tasting too, with some oaky and chocolate notes. Sone Marmite too. Nice rich, smooth mouthfeel. Not exactly a subtle beer, and maybe lacks depth compared to some impy stouts, but it does grow on you. However, the alcohol is way too evident.

Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, heavy alcohol, whisky and chocolate. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with lots of alcohol. Oily. 170215
