omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 27, 2008 Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear golden, rich creamy head. Interesting aroma with buttery grainy malt and grassy spicy hops. Medium sweet with dense rouned mouthfeel. The grainy malt combines well with pilsnerish hay-like hoppiness. Finishes with balanced but marked bitterness. A well made enjoyable beer along the line of Czech 14° lagers.
tarjei (1370), Bryne, Norway Oct 21, 2008 75 cl bottle at Hopheads´ fourth tasting - in my garage. Bought at Ølkonsortiet, Aalborg. Slightly hazy dark golden color, big off-white head. Aroma is grassy, fruity and hoppy in a moderate way. Flavor is moderate fruity, hoppy and malty with a hint of sourness. Dry finish. Nice pilsener! austone (580), Turku; Pori, Finland Oct 20, 2008 at EBF. Murky golden with small light beige head. Sourish, little vinous aroma with mild soy sauce. Tartish murky flavor with raspberry, grassy hops, wood and herbs. Low carbonation, a bit watery palate. De Molen makes them strange. FatPhil (2408), Espoo, Finland Sep 21, 2008 Bottle (EBF2008)
I was asked not to review this as it was the dregs of the bottle, and wouldn’t show the beer at its best, but it was just so tasty I have to come here and bump its average up . Fruity aroma. Soft palate, aided by the yeastiness. Tangy fruity hops sit above a gently yeasty malty body. Long hoppy finish. If this was the beer not at its prime, this will be storming fresh. (However, the yeast component was a positive contribution, as I mentioned before.) Should rerate. ThomasE (5075), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 4, 2008 Golden colour with a white head. Malty, grainy aroma with a light hoppy grassy note. Malty, fruity flavor with grassy and light hoppy fruity notes. BeerBiker (1219), Odense, Denmark Aug 28, 2008 [Sampled at DØE-festival with Helga, Søren and Anne, Århus 2008.] Golden with nice white head. Notes of grass, fruits, grapes, malt, some hops and a true czech style.
