2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Foffern (127) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 19, 2012
Bottle at home. Pours a pale straw-coloured slightly hazy beer. Has also a huge frothy white head, like from soap. Aromas of sweet corn, grains and hay. Hint of grass and some citrus. Less aroma from the saaz than expected. Smells nothing more than a bit richer standard pale lager. The flavours make this beer more special with grains, grass, alcohol, hops, and hints of citrus. The bitterness is very dominant which is also very lasting, but the saaz i not very present here either. Slick and slightly watery mouthfeel. In the first part drinking this beer it feels a little bit unbalanced, but this gets better towards the bottom of the glass. In the end a decent pilsener but are lacking typical elements that makes this a bohemian in my opinion.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Storm_Warning (35) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2012
Currently drinking while typing. Good aroma in this beer as with the other De Molens I have tried. Malts and tangy hops dominate the aroma along with hints of Lemon and Lime in there too. Poured with a lovely course tight white head that sits on top of a glowing golden orange haze, the head slowly fizzled away to a thin coating. Great flavours in this too, with large malts and big tangy hops that have a lovely bitterness that creates a good bite to the beer. Spruce and grassiness too along with gentle dusty shelf flavours too, leaves with a gentle bitterness on the aftertaste with a prominent hopiness in the mouth. Great feel in the mouth with lovely carbonation which help it feel full and right for the style, nice head which feels nice too! Another great brew from De Molen, my love for their beers is growing more and more with each one. Definately worth buying!
