Tap at KBH festival, 2009. Black with a small creamy brown head and lacings. Lovely coffee profile going on here. Also chocolate, oak and a bit of alcohol. Again hard roasted coffee notes. Warmth, sticky and full bodied. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at FoCo Stout Tasting 2013, courtesy of Armin. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown with a small brown head that quickly dissipated. Roasty, bourbon, caramelly, toffee, dark fruits, and chocolate in the aroma. Taste deep roast, light bread, dark fruits, cocoa, coffee, tangy, and grapey. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Not bad.

33 cl bottle, huge thanks to Mathieu87 for finding this for me, 11/10/2013. Pours deep brown, practically black, light tan head forms a nice cushion on the surface before dying to haze, thin ring of lacing apparent around the glass. Aroma is bitter dark chocolate, acidic coffee and charred roast, touch of licorice and vanilla, with dry wood, subtle fruity cognac rounding out the finish. Taste is licorice, dark chocolate moderately sweet, toffee under dark fruity barrel notes, long roast finish, deeply bitter. Medium thick body, flavors remain sharp and focused. Perhaps not as dark, chewy and roasted as some of my favorite treatments, but quite nice all the same, really glad to have tried.

Underbar färg, svart med högt gräddigt skum som ligger kvar. Smaken är underbar, söt, rostad malt, kaffe, chocklad kanske lite ek? Balanserad ut till det yttersta!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle #97 shared with Alan, Alan, and Barry under the covered bridge downtown in VT, pours black with light head and lace, not much carbonation etiher. Notes of toffee, roasted malt, barrel, fig, cocoa, marshmallow, and light cognac. The fuller body is very smooth and silky with no bite at all from the booze. One of our favorites of the night, exceptional RIS from the Dutch Masters. Proost.

Bottle from trade a few years ago. I can’t remember who sent it to me but I am glad they did. It has been sitting quietly in the beer cellar waiting for me to enjoy. Pours a nice rich dark color with a huge tan head on it. Aroma of brandy, marshmellows, coffee and chocolate. Flavorful with hints of cocoa, coffee and malt. This is an outstanding beer that has aged well. Very smooth in the finish.
