6 Slightly dull stodgy malts, and nondescript hop aroma, a bit fruity and sweet.
3+ Rich orange, small keggy head.
6 Porridgy stodgy malts, underattenuated. Fruity dark berries.
3 Full palate, smooth, slightly slick. Finish a touch alcoholic and sweet.
12 Too stodgy, but not flawed as such.

Draught @ Kaisla, Helsinki.
Pours an unclear ambcer colour without a head. Aroma of sweet berries, light hops and perfume. Flavour of sweet malts, grains, nuts, sweet berries, yeast and hops. Medium bodied, thin mouthfeel and a stuffy, sweet, light bitter finish. Way too sweet for an IPA. This is more of an Amber Ale, but still too thin and stuffy.

Clear amber color, small white head. Fruity, berryish nose. Medium-bodied. Sweetish fruityness in teh flavor, also candy and strawberries. Not so good bitterness for IPA (probably description is not for this beer). Quite boring and not typical De Molen -beer. To make it clear: this is not Black IPA as restaurant wanted, probably totally different beer.

Draught @Kaisla 1.2.2012. Poured hazy brown color with a white head. Aroma was fruity hoppy and malty, with some weizen/sahti-like notes clearly noticeable, ripe bananas came to mind directly. Flavor was yeast, roasted malt and hops. Very easy to drink, alcohol well hidden. Liked this one quite a lot. Not very bitter and not very Black IPA either though.

Draught @ Kaisla, Helsinki

Pours murky reddish brown color with a small foamy light brown head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, malts and hops. Taste is quite strange with a lot of sweet malts, some hops and hints of milk and chocolate. Finish is silky smooth with hints of bitterness. Overall quite untypical, probably this wasn’t supposed to end up like this. Tastes more like a sweet brown ale/milk stout than a (black) IPA.

(Draught at Kaisla, 20120202) The beer poured copper coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, grass, malts, mild roastedness and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. I know this was supposed to be a Black IPA but colour is no way black. A clean beer from De Molen which is nice.
