Bottle 75 cl. Pours a cloudy dark brown - close to black - with an orange hue and a creamy beige head leaving some lacework. Distinct peaty iodine aroma. Medium-bodied only, very minerally - salt and iodine - burned malt, distinct peaty smoke. Ends in a somewhat tired mouthfeel, distinctly bitter finish from both malts and hops although the hops on the aromatic level are completely overpowered by the peat. But for a peat hater like me this at least is drinkable. 280212

Borefts Beer Festival 3. Opaque black beer. Residual off white head. Light dry palate. Strong smoke but well integrated with minerally dark malt. Nice piney hops. A decent beer and the smoke heads will enjoy but for me this was just a little too much with the smoke to be great.

Draft at BBF 2011, courtesy of Menno’s crew, thank you gentlemen! Aroma of intense burned bacon. Taste is boozy brandy and ashtray. Tasty.
