Mild chocolate and roast. Excessive carbonation distracts from the beer, though otherwise could be nice.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2013 Served in a Hair of the Dog snifter. Acquired via large trade with Mike. A lot of generosity in the beer community. The beer is dark brown with a few random brown bubbles. There was actually a hiss upon wrestling off the screw top. The aroma is fabulous. Molasses and caramel, booze and candy, a touch of sweetness but by no means cloying. Fabulous flavor. Hype aside this beer is actually delicious. 29% abv is masked extremely well. Of course, this beer is 19 years old. So mellow and smooth. No carbonation. Like a fine after dinner cordial. Chocolate and port wine with rich molasses. Similar in some regards to Samuel Adams MMM. World class. What an experience.

0,3 liter fles @home. de tekentjes op de fles wijzen niet naar Fone50 bier. Knap dat toch iedereen het gevonden heeft. Of zijn er veel mensen die het NIET hebben gevonden en een nieuw bier aanmelden! Toch een lekker biertje. FoneFan gefeliciteerd. ik ga op naar de 1000.

@ ACBF 2011. The aroma has roasted malts, lots of fruits, liquorice, red wine. Black coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste has a very smooth bretty sourness, roasted malts, balsamico, red wine, liquorice and dark fruits. Best combination of a sour and stout I tasted so far.

Draft at ACBF 2011. Pours black with a very dense, beige head. Sour, sugary and floral nose. Dynamic flavor, sweet, lightly fruity, faintly roasty. Not lip-puckeringly sour; it blends in nicely with sugary notes. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Warm finish, sticky sweet, mild cocoa, some very ripe, dark fruits. Great stuff.

Cleaning up ratings from ACBF 2011 - I must have liked it as I scribbled a high rating on my paper, but was not taking any notes by this time of the festival. Oh well...

Aroma is liquorice, smoke and brett. Flavour is rich creamy stout covered by a subtle layer of fruity brett, Awesome combo of brett and stout. Amazing.

Had this one at the ACBF 2011. Black colored brew with a brown head. Malty aroma, some licorice and hops. Flavor is malty too, bourbon, chcolate, coffee and some sourness. Nice combination for that nice mr Fone50 ;)

Bottle from Bierkoning. Dark body with slight head. Nose is malty, spicy, licorice. Taste is really nice stout with sweet and milky notes. Hop in the finish. Very, very good. Really enjoyed it and a wonderful tribute to a top rater.

Draft. A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of apples, malt, and smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of apples, malc, caramel, smoke, and fruits, leading to a tart finish.
