4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle - 222/432 2010 vintage. Pours deep dark brown with a creamy thick light beige head. Aroma of raw and earthy nuts, cinnamon, coffee, chocolate and maple syrup and hone - very "thick" and rich aroma. Medium to full body with a rich sweet mouthfeel, bitterness-smoke kick in as from the middle (very well balanced) and a slight spicy end. Taste is blueberries mixed with dark dark dark chocolate... Not really a veggie beer, but rather smoked porter to me. But quite perfect!

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark bodied beer with small beige lace. Lots of berries, forest fruits, blue berry bitterness and dryness, that kind of thing. Also a well holding special malt base with licorice. Not much smoke left, luckily for me. Soft body that supports the fruity funk well. I never had it fresh, but scrolling past the reviews this beer must have changed character quite a bit by the aging. And I really like the result. (Bottle many thanks to Menno and John)

Opaque black beer, good sized creamy tan head. Soft palate. Mellow dark malt, no bitterness or roast. A light fruity tang and mild smoke. Trace of chocolate. Airy finish. As always - great dark beers from De Molen!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Marvelous smoked beer. Rich in taste with a moderation to the smokiness. i never knew juniper could work out so nicely. Shared with a friend who appreciates smoke, worked lovely with its bold slightly imperial stout and spicy taste with a long and multi course lunch.

A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of fruit, berries, dark malts, with some hints of chocolate. The taste of roasted malts with coffee and chocolate notes, fruits like some berries with spices. A little burny. The aftertaste of roasted malts with bitter and sweets.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Deep brown pour, looking almost black. Massive, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has lots of smoked malts, tar, luscious dark chocolate. Medium carbonation, lovely creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is lovely, lots of smoked malts but not all that - instead, there is wonderful herbal dryness, lots of dark chocolate, mild coffee, juniper. Mild vinious, but there is enough mouthfeel and dryness to balance it wonderfully. A very nice beer.
