COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
FRIS & FRUITIG MORELLEN LAMBIEK BORDEAUX BARREL Fruit Lambic – 5,6% vol. Each flavour component plays so beautifully off each other that it is like watching a well done stage play. A pair of characters would present themselves on your palate and trip delicately around your senses. With each unveiling, new complexity was found and a new sensation. Subtle, refined, delicate, nuanced.

From a large cask barrel at GBBF ’10. Interesting dark purple/brown pour. Blackcurrant, raspberry and sour aromas. Quite a fruit laden nose, gives you an impression of what’s to come. Fruity/sour aromas of plums, blackberries, wood, oak, some smoke, nuts. Sharp sour kick. Nice dry finish.

Naja... 9/8/8/7//7

Copenhagen beer festival. Clear red beer, pinkish head. Nicely tart. Just a touch of cherry. Not my favourite style but liked this.

Bottle at Monk’s Cafe Stockholm, shared with omhper and tarhels86. Cloudy red color. Aroma of sour summer berries. Taste is sour cherry juice. Nice stuff.

330mL from Monk’s Cafe in Stockholm, Sweden. The pour is a clear raspberry with a thick, temporary head. Spotty lace. Aroma is funky, fruity, raspberry, fresh strawberry, malty, fruit heavy, some impending acetic sourness. Taste is acetic, tart, funky, vinegary, spicy. Refreshing, not over the top on acetic spice. Refreshing tart palate. Very nice.

Draught (GBBF2010)
6 Sweet fruity raspberry and banana.
3 Sickly pink, cloudy.
6 Big on the banana, sweet.
3 Full and soft, but sticky. Finish very bananaey.
10 Maybe a bit girly. Not enough bite to counter the sweetness.

[3282-20100803] Wood cask sample. Lambic yeast and cherry notes in the aroma. Murky, dark brown plum body with no head. Fruity wooden barrel flavour is like sherry with a long aftertaste. Medium body. Nice wood notes but not very lambic-esque in terms of sour, though it is more so along the flavour profile.

From a Wooden Cask at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 03/08/2010 Sour fruit aroma. Mid brown dark coloured a little hazy in appearance and strong in alcohol with a hint of bitterness in the finish.

2010-08-03. Headless murky brown body. 3+ Flavour is surprisingly mild, lightly sour throughout, modest wood character, mild fruit that hints at cherry. 7+ Mild aroma, mild musty fruit character, sweet and sour cherry notes when I look hard. Average plus bodied palate. Decent but surprisingly mild. Lacks oomph. Wooden Cask at GBBF 2010

This poured a rusty reddish pink. It had the flavor of strawberries on the verge of becoming over-ripe, and it smelled like teryaki sauce. I think it would be nice with Asian food or salad.
