This imperial stout was oak aged on wooden barrels with cherries and Brettanomyces yeast. You can imagine the complexity of this beer.

750mL bottle, 2010 vintage, #658 of 666. Poured near-black with just a loose ring of dark beige head sticking around.. looked kind of flat. The aroma picked up chocolate-covered cherries first, with fruity Brett and toasted oak accenting.. I really didn’t get much beyond that, but I liked what I got. The flavor found semi-sweet mocha at the core, with tart cherries, metallic bourbon, and dry, fruity Brett laced throughout.. more Brett, sweeter chocolates, and tasty bourbon on the long finish. Medium-plus bodied with very little carbonation on the palate.. slick across the middle.. there was quite a bit going on here, but it only sort of worked for me.

Thanks to Eric and Seth for sharing this bottle. Black with a tan head. Aroma is full of dark fruit and roasted malt. Flavor is much more complex. I get a lot of chocolate and cherries, as well as some light brett, leather and light tartness. Thick mouthfeel and low carbonation.

Dark brown, hazy with thin white head. Aroma of dark fruity malts, great fruity nose, bretty and the alcohol is so well hidden. Taste is complex with dark fruits, woody, bretty, dark fruity malts, soft roast, bit phenolic, hard to describe but a great complex flavour. Finish as main flavour with some soft smoke and a bitterish tail
Overall - A super complex impy. Superb

In bottle thanks Craig. Pours a very dark brown colour with a thin light tan head. An amazing aroma of Brett, cherries, roasty malt, liquorice, soy sauce and alcohol. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Alcohol is well balanced. Mildly bitter. Phenomenal!

75cl bottle, #233/666, bottled on 02/12/2010 shared with Tomaz. Holy wax mess batman, terrible idea.

Draught. Black. Beige head. Woody oak aroma. Quite bitter with a hint of grape skins. No obvious cherry character.

Tap/ The head is good, the body black. It smells sweet-sour. The taste is sweet- sour, hoppy, alcoholic-creamy, sweet-apple, raisins. Very nice taste but not easy to drink! 13/12/12/12/-/12

Danke an Grima. Mild malziger Beginn mit stärker werdenden Schokoladennoten, positiv trocken. Dann röstiger, schokoladig, geringe Fruchtnoten. Anschließend starke Kaffeenoten. Interessant aber nicht top! 12/10/11/10/13/11

Bottle at Wasana’s Winter Beer Tasting 2012!
The beer in the glass is deep black, there is hardly any foam. Smells roasty, very cherry-like, slightly acid (Brett.)! Starts with great cherry flavors that evaporate very quickly, however. Moreover aromas of roasted malts, coffee, vanilla and sour Brett. This beer has no carbonation! The middle part is cherry-sour, bitter and subtle woody-coffee roasted. The finish has all these flavors again very strong, the hold on very long! Fabulous!
