This imperial stout was oak aged on wooden barrels with cherries and Brettanomyces yeast. You can imagine the complexity of this beer.

Thanks to Crusisnbeer. Pours a dark brown with tan head. Aroma of slight anise, darke fruit, some cherrie and farmhouse. Flavor is much the same with a bit of booze. Medium body with medium carbonation. Solid brew!

Bottle. [thanks skortila & caesar]
Pours completely black with a small, frothy, beige film head. Aroma is light tart, raisins, cherries, a bit of iodine, oak, whiskey, sherry, coffee and a bit of red wine. Low carbonation, bordering on flat. Fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is tart, coffee, roasted malts, mild cherries, vinious, fat malty with a dry and fairly bitter finish. Lots of interesting things in there, but it just lacks a certain something to be completely coherent.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of cherries and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries, over ripe fruits, and roasted malt, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Interesting and highly complex.

Bottle at post-ACBF 2011 tasting. Pours dark, hazy brown with a light head. Faint funk nose with dark, light cocoa malts. Interesting flavor. Rich with some cocoa, peat, alcohol, and subtle sourness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, peaty and boozy. Very good stuff.

Aroma is roasty cherrie, some bretty notes, some chocolate. Flavour is a wild ride of sweet cherry, roasty malt, bitter coffee, some caramel, touch of sour brett. Brett slowly starting to take over.

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. An almost black one, topped by a small, dark beige head. Dark dried fruits and sourish fruityness as well as a roasted touch on the nose. The flavor is pretty much the same, berries, dried fruits and roasted malts, quite warming on the palate. Full body, dry and smooth. A pleasant and tasteful beer I’d like to have more of. 110526

It pours dark thick black with a small off white head. The aroma is sweet cherries and dark roasted malts combined perfectly with booze on top. The flavor is boozy, cherries, and dark malts blended very nice on a medium body with a smooth ending that has some welcoming warming booze notes.
