Tap @ beer temple. Pour murky reddish/brown, with no head at all. Aroma of caramel, sweet fudge, ripe dark fruits, sour cherries, old hops, slight spicy. The taste is pretty sweet, with some faint hoppy bitterness. Medium and slight oily body, with a semi-flat carb.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is big (citrus) fruity hops, strong caramel, some bread. Flavour is very malty at the start with bread and caramel, then a big hop flavour and bitterness, then more sticky sweetness and a almost candy like sidenote combined with some alcohol. Hefty but nice beer.

A clear amber color with a small off-white head. Tons of caramel, brown sugar, and toffee sweetness. If that wasn’t enough, a ton of dark fruit as well. Mild hop notes of citrus, perhaps a hint of pine. Tastes incredibly sweet, but just enough pine and citrus hops to add a light bitterness. Tons of brown sugar, toffee, and caramel. Great cherry and raisin fruitiness as well.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Dried figs and grassy hops in the aroma. Sweet flavor, malty with dried figs, grassy and citric hops and partly hidden alcohol. Full bodied, thick on the tongue. How they manage to get such a big hop flavor in a barley wine with only 56 EBU. Delicious!

Deep read. Short head. Smells hops and sweet. Taste is sour sweet caramel, and belgium style big. Aroma is complex, so complex that I have troubles to begin how to start describing this. There are fruits of garden, sourness of east european plumbs... uh, oh. The best barley wine I have had in my lifetime, and I have difficulty to imaging I will ever have anything better.

33cl, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2012, from De Bierkoning Amsterdam, complex brew, sweet/malty and slightly fruity/alcoholic, not too heavy, balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!
