MiP (4927), Flensburg, Germany Mar 30, 2007 Bottle, 5.0% as Goudsche Grachten Witbier. Tea, coriander aroma. Hazy golden colour, very small white head. The flavour is a bit yeasty with OK coriander notes. Otherwise a little thin. Low bitterness. I guess it would be refreshing enough in summer. bierkoning (4691), La Tropica, Netherlands Nov 6, 2006 Updated: Dec 12, 2006Bottle, bought at the brewery. Blonde with a touch of pink, hazy. Orange and grape sugar in both aroma and flavor. Mango. Witbier character, or, more precise: looks a bit like the Kluis Peeterman I’ve had in the ’80’s.
Goudsch Grachten Witbier. Blonde, slightly hazy. Herbal hops and a hint of ginger in the aroma and flavor. Just a hint of fruity sweetness. A bit too herbal for a Belgian wit IMO. (6 3 6 2 12 = 2.9, tasted 05.11.06) Are these beers really the same???

33cl bottle at our lacal. Cloudy lemon yellow colour. Rather weiss like. Typically Dutch nose with spicy lemon, some grassy hops and a little ginger. Bland flavour along the same lines as the nose. Lacking in balance. Tarty finish. Nothing great. jbrus (4095), Delft, Netherlands Jan 20, 2007 Bottled. Mainly citrus aroma with a hint of banana. Cloudy, pale yellow, white head, few lace. Light sweet, light bitter, citric, sticky. Not bad but uninteresting. Maria (3963), Thisted, Denmark Mar 2, 2008 Thank you Bierkoning. Straw and hazy like a wheat beer and the head is nice and lasting. The aroma is ½ barnyard and ½ citrus mixed with yeast. The flavour is strange, but not really unpleasant. The body is light with notes of pomelo, lime and other citrus fruits, yeast, sourness and the finish is somewhat tart. I’m sorry to say, this isn’t my kind of beer.
