caesar (2575), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Jun 10, 2007 Tap @ de Molen. Brewed with Weihenstephaner yeast. Hazy golden color, medium creamy head, which had to rise like a Guiness. Aroma of sweet banana, some wheat. Very sweet banana taste, like a banana-milkshake, very creamy. Slightly dry finish. Bit too sweet for a German weizen, and not spicy and wheaty enough. Too bad it doesn’t resemble the Weihenstephaner, but certainly not bad. bierkoning (4935), La Tropica, Netherlands Nov 6, 2006 Updated: Dec 12, 2006Bottle, bought at the brewery. Blonde with a touch of pink, hazy. Orange and grape sugar in both aroma and flavor. Mango. Witbier character, or, more precise: looks a bit like the Kluis Peeterman I’ve had in the ’80’s.
Goudsch Grachten Witbier. Blonde, slightly hazy. Herbal hops and a hint of ginger in the aroma and flavor. Just a hint of fruity sweetness. A bit too herbal for a Belgian wit IMO. (6 3 6 2 12 = 2.9, tasted 05.11.06) Are these beers really the same???
ante (2525), Stockholm, Sweden May 22, 2007 Bottled. hazy golden, low white foam. Yeasty aroma with notes of coriander and dough. Medium bodied with a strong yeasty presence. Spices and banana with an acidic touch of lemon and wood. Coriander and banana in the yeasty finish. SoLan (1187), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 20, 2008 Courtesy bierkoning. Hazy gold. Large, fluffy, white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, grainy. Flavor is similar, but a lot more grainy. Like chewing a handful of fresh grains, kind of weird. Medium body, high carbonation. Strange brew. Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands Feb 14, 2007 Fruity aromas. Biscuit malt with orange, peach and mango in the taste, sweetish and a bit bitterish. Nice and easily drinkable, but not really interesting
