Dark, almost black. Has an off-white head, mostly to fully lasting. Aroma is faint, roasted notes. Flavor is starting sweet, has some notes of burnt, wet newspaper. Moderete bitter finish.

11.2 oz. bottle, purchased by my mom at the brewery during her trip to the Netherlands in the spring of 2008. This was before it was distributed in the U.S. (maybe it was being distributed only in New Jersey or something; I donít recall exactly). Thanks Mom! Labeled with a date of 3/11/10 (as I have Americanized it); presumably this is a best-by date, in which case, oops, missed it by a couple of years. Oh well. It definitely wasnít spoiled. Split three ways at a tasting on 4-20-12. Sweet smell features raisin, coffee with milk, and milk chocolate scents. Pours brown with an amber hue. Flavor matches the aroma. Medium body. Quite lively and sharp in the palate. Thereís something a little different about this beer on which I canít put my finger. Not memorable overall.

Drank on tap (10 oz) at Le Cheval Blanc for the second Big Tuesday of Cheval Blancís 25th anniversary, April 10, 2012. Very dark brown, thin head. Aroma of malted barley slightly smoky, nutty notes. Taste of semi sweet barley and nuts, dry chocolate notes, sweet aftertaste. A good simple porter!

Bottle at Danís. Pours a cola black. Aroma is coffee, malty, oaky, a little smokey. Taste is a bit treacley, with coffee grain, peaty maltness and a bit of lavender too. Decent finish, a touch watery mouthfeel but still flavourful. Nice one.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Pours very dark with orangey tan hint, and no head. Smell was heavily roasted malt and hint of creaminess. Taste is strong (very powerful for 5.1%), bitter roast and a little sweetish cream. Slightly oily palate. Finish is long and bitter with faint chocolate character. A nice beer, more of a beer at home than a porter for the pub though.

Pours no foam, no carbonation, strange appearance. Maybe the bottle fermentation did not take place... Color is red. Nose is very neutral. First impression is like a classic porter and finally this is exactly what you should expect from a porter. I already drunk similar ones from draft in south of England, not so carbonated but well balanced. Roasted malt flavour, subtle acidity, nice bitterness, dry finish ... a Porter.
