Dark brown. Fizzy carbonation. Thin, dry. Bitter, but quite low on both aroma and taste. Red fruit, coffee and some malt aroma. Carbonation and watery mouth feel actually reminds me of soda water. Too little of everything, but the little aroma and taste it brings make it ok. Just ok.

330ml bottle, 5.2% abv, carried back home from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo. Beige head with a solid foamy stand. Good spotty lacing down the glass. Unclear, dark red-brown. Welcoming half-sweet aroma of mocha chocolate. Chocolate, nuts and oatmeal to the taste buds added by subdued yeasty notes. Smooth, dry and sweet to the finish. Likable. Shared with Finn (Tromsø, 04.10.2012).

330ml brown bottle. Bottled on 14/12/2011. Dark brown with ruby highlights. Light beige head, good rings of lace left in the glass. Nose has coffee beans and dark chocolate. Taste had bitter roasty dark malts, faint smoke and black coffee. Dry finish. Aftertaste is long and roasty with black coffee, dry. Lightish body, ample carbonation. A well done very drinkable dry porter.

Bottle - Sweet chocolate and alcohol on the nose. Opaque dark brown with a creamy but small persistent head. Nice roasted malts and chocolate with coffee on the finish. Palate is very watery, which is nice if you don’t want that heavy feeling, but is odd with such robust flavours. Very nice, will likely have many more.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours very dark, almost black, with a huge tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and wood with hints of licorice, fruits and spices. Quite dry and malty with a light bitterness in the finish. Medium body. Pleasant, and a bit unusual porter.

Negra oscura, de espuma ingobernable. Viscosa y muy gasificada. De aroma y sabor muy complejos: chocolate tostado ligeramente ahumado. Brutal!!

Bottle from the crazy september release in Vika 2012
Pours brown, almost black in glass, red hue, big tanned head. Smells of roasted malts, coffee, earthy hops, yeast and small hints of peat. Moderate sweet, quite dry, alot of roast and toast, also coffee. Moderate bitter, coffee and some earthy hops. Medium body, average carbonation, watery texture. A decent porter pretty true to style. I like that it’s quite dry, roasty and still easy drinkable

Bottle. Very dark brown with a large off white foam. Aromas are hazelnuts with bready cookie dough and earthy, leafy hops. Smoky, toasty with hints of lemon. Flavours are gritty cocoa with yeast and plenty of nuttiness. Raisins with bready yeast. Very nice.

(Rating #4303)

Pours a dark brown in the body with a thin whisp of beige head and a few splotches of lacing. The nose has a light fruitiness and a light chocolate and woody malt character. No hops on the nose, but an unusual fruit. The taste is lightly sweet with a mild malt flavour overall and a bit of drying bitterness on the finish. overall, very average porter, but a good beer for sure.
