3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(33cl bottle) Purchased at Cook Street Liquor for around $6.90. Pours a thin, frothy white had atop a deep reddish-brown body. Nose is lightly toasted. Flavours are pretty sharp for a porter. A lot of bitterness and hops in the front with a slow meld into a roasted malty finish. Very thin and somewhat off-base in my opinion.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($4.25): Pours dark brown with a big frothy tan head. Aroma is lightly fruity, bready, and yeasty. It kind of smells like a brewery in a good way. Taste is sweet and bready. Hoppiness is pretty light. Chocolate is there. This bottle is a bit old, but it seems to have aged rather nicely.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark black color with little foam. The smell is dry and coffeeish. The taste is dry and the coffee part is almost like coffee powder mixed into this beer. Oily and smooth and dry with particle like aftertaste.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2015 Beautiful amber color with tan head. Roasted malt, berries, surprisingly no chocolate. Taste is more roasted malts and berries, bittersweet. Juicy mouthfeel. Red vine feeling. Nice and surprising, like so many De Molens!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at the Rake, 19/06/15.
Murky chestnut brown with moderate off white spotting @not a looker.
Nose is toffee, light cocoa, roast malt, spice, dark fruit rinds.
Taste comprises chocolate, light must, charr, fruit cake, toffee.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Decent enough porter, let down by its appearance more than anything.
