Bottle 100/459. Dark brown colour with some ruby redness, off-white head. Smells coffee, oak, pine, mint and chocolate. Tastes deep coffee, chocolate, wood - quite powerfull. Full body, great co2 and quite warming even though it’s only 5,7% abv.

75cl Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Shared with DutchDrebus. Nice dark brown color with a deep dark red glare coming through. Small beige to light brown head. Smell sour, oak, wine, dark malts and lightly coffee. Taste oak, coffee, dark malts, bitter and chocolate. Superb complex taste and only 5,7%ABV! Remarkable. Full body, medium carbonation.

Bouteille 75cl #436/459. Couleur cuivrée foncée, mousse beige. Arôme donne bien le profile des fûts de Bordeaux, le tout restant fruité et boisé avec des notes de malt grillé avec une fie touche de houblon amer. Bière agréable, malt grillé/café qcq note de malt fumé et on ressent bien le fût e Bordeaux qui apporte ce côté boisé avec des notes de fruits noirs et raisins/vin. Le tout est suivi par un houblon amer/citron qui reste agréable. Bonne chose que étant donné le faible abv de la bière, l’usage du Bordeaux ne prend pas le dessus, tout en restant bien présent. Une bière qui reste sèche au palais, avec des notes de bois, et un profile plus malté qui reste néanmoins balancé par cette amertume venant du houblon. Cet aspect sec venant du bois et du malt se ressent, restant agréable et fruité.

Pours nutty brown to black with a big, fizzy, frothy, beige head. Lovely aroma of milky chocolate, clear red wine, mild roasted, mild vanilla, some oak and a floral spicy note. Medium to low carbonation, fine light and very dry mouthfeel. Flavour is elegant, peppery (chili), roasted, dry, dark chocolate, a bit milky feel, vinious, oaky dryness. Chewy liquorice and tobacco notes. Piney, malty dry and grainy in the finish. Very lovely and elegant!

Bottle from ABC Beers. Pours black with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, oak, dark fruits and A little vanilla. Flavor has some licorice and caramel as well. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Frisch malziger Antrunk, der später erheblich intensiver wirs. Herbe und frische Noten werden dabei beibehalten. Darin dezent holzig, im Abgang wird das Bier aber überraschend wässrigder, nur die trockenen Röstnoten des Malzes überleben. Das Ende passt definitiv nicht zum Bier. 10/11/9/9//10

75CL bottle shared at tasting pitch black with low carbonation and close to no foam. actually tastes like red wine, also a lot of clove going on. there is a porter-taste in the background, but the red wine takes the upper hand. a bit sweet. Overall: a very strange beer, very nice.

75cl, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2010, from De Bierkoning Amsterdam, complex Porter, fruity and slightly sour, yet easy to drink, balanced, hazy, small head, good brew, yet expensive, Happy Birthday to De Bierkoning!

Thanks to bierkoning for that one! Bottle looks good, beer in the glass also. Starts malty and strong, some coffee notes and also fruity notes of berries. Nice sourish background. Finish shows more and more hop notes, nice bitter side. Well balanced finish, very drinkable. Very nice beer!
