Bottle 30 cl. Pours dark brown with a thick brown head and an aroma of whiskey, heavy malts, rye, smoked eel and licorice. The taste is sweet too, with hints of roasted malts, ripe fruit, dark chocolate, smokiness and some alcohol. I really like this one!

Bottle. Dark brown thick foamy head that mostly lasted. Thick lacework in the glass. Pitch black color. Aroma was sweet dried fruit, roasted malty and some whiskey feel. Over the palate came roasted and liquorish with again some whiskey. Almost light smoked and a hint of dark chocolate. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick texture. Heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Lingering roasted and sweet malty finish. Excellent and quite drinkable for an Imperial Stout.

Bottle at home. Pitch black pour, thin dark brown head. Aroma of burnt malts, chocolate, peat, tobacco, alcohol, spices and oat. Flavor is quite bitter and very roasted. Well balanced. So dark, it gives a sense of impending doom. Nice brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle pours mahogany with mocha like head of foam. The aroma offers up molasses, dark roasted malts, some spicy wood like notes and then vague soft barrel notes. The taste begins with roasted malts, dark roasted malts and some chocolate. It then moves into almost peaty like booze and spicy wood. Overall the mouthfeel is on the thin side and the taste lingers with mild spicy wood notes and fading roasted maltiness.

enjoyed this as a treat in a 33 cl bottle at de kelk ( bruges) . wich i’m very thanfull for ! this one and hel en verdoemenis made me a real fan of de molen !
this is a stout ( so i knew already i was gonna like it) but less sweet than de hel en verdoemenis. but WAAW ! so concentrated, withoud going over the top ! they’ve menaged to create a thickness, a complexity, a heaviness and so on, that is just right there at the line , but not crossing it. theyve pusched it to the maximum withoud going in the red zone ! if these were cheaper and unlimited ( wich i think they are) id have one weekley !
