Sigmund (4222) - Tau, NORWAY - MAY 14, 2012
Sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Black colour, tan head. Moderately roasty and oaky aroma, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Medium sweet flavour, notes of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and oak. Could use some more hops, but still a good beer as it is.

33cl, as Haver & Gort ’Barrel Aged’, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2012, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex Stout, roasted/malty and slightly alcoholic/spicy, not too heavy, balanced, hazy, good head, very good brew, yet expensive!

skortila (4166) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - APR 10, 2012
Bottled. The aroma has chocolate, coffee and roast. Black coloured beer with a beige head. The taste is moderate bitter, bit sweet, has roasted chocolate and coffee malts, some grassy hoppiness. Full bodied. Nice and complex. Good beer. Whisky not really there?

Grovlam (4137) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 29, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown thick foamy head that mostly lasted. Thick lacework in the glass. Pitch black color. Aroma was sweet dried fruit, roasted malty and some whiskey feel. Over the palate came roasted and liquorish with again some whiskey. Almost light smoked and a hint of dark chocolate. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick texture. Heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Lingering roasted and sweet malty finish. Excellent and quite drinkable for an Imperial Stout.

olio (4094) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 1, 2012
33 cl bottle @ Timo A. Bottled. 28.02.2012. BBE +25 years.
Pours pitch black color with a medium beige head. Aroma of some port wine, dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, some wooden notes, bourbon, hints of vanilla and peat. Flavor of dark chocolate, ash, cocoa powder, bourbon, some red wine notes, hints of coffee, dark berry notes and peat. Very rich and complex brew with a nice appealing aroma, sadly the alcohol comes through a bit too much. Still very good.

lusikka (4047) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 4, 2012
330 ml bottle.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beautiful beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, Speyside whiskey, sweet toffee and ash. Flavour of roasted malts, smoked wood, Speyside whiskey again, raisins, caramel and low bitterness. Rich mouthfeel and good carbonation. Very rich finish with roasted malts, dark fruits and some tanginess. Very smooth and exceptional without being overly extreme.

caesar (3948) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - APR 30, 2013
Bottled, febr 2012. Black color, medium lasting brown head. Aroma of chocolat, coffee, bit grainy, hint of grapes, molasses. Apart from the barrel aging, it does have some similarities to a certain Double Oatmeal Stout. I noticed on the label there should be some barrel aging, although it was hard to find out what kind. Not bourbon or peated whisky, more mellow and now that I see ratebeer, it’s speyside whisky. Ok, fair enough. In taste it’s quite dry, some wood and quite boozy. A bit too boozy actually. I can recall I said that about the H&V misto as well, but this one has aged for over a year, so it cant be that it’s too fresh. It’s just too boozy.

33 cl bottle @ Timo A. Bottled 28.02.2012, BBE 28.02.2037
Aroma is sweetish with lots of peat, some whisky and oaky notes. Flavour is sweet and rather strong on whisky notes. Some peat and woody notes too. Foamy and somewhat creamy palate. Too sweet and too strong on whisky.
