Borresteijn (427), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 10, 2008 On tap @ Arendsnest. Hazy orange/blond colour, white head. Aroma of sweet fruits and spices, not the usual. Flavour is sweet, spicy and fruity, with a very nice bitter finish. Very soft mouthfeel. A not so average tripel. TBone (4924), Pori, Finland Jul 20, 2008 Bottled (BB 01/2010)
Slightly hazy orange color, good creamy off-white head. Coriander, pepper, iron in the nose. Flavor is interesting: there is typical tripel spiceyness and fruityness, but also tiny little sweet spot behind everything else. Warming and balanced. Spicey-hoppy finish. Indeed this is slightly similar to LaChouffe. Another success from De Molen. RomanW70 (284), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jul 14, 2008 Had at Nederlands Biercafe ‘t Arendsnest on 6/18. Pours dark hazy orange with a thick white head. Strong nose of flowers, spoice, grass, and caramel. Strong and well balanced. very strong sweet malts here though. Nice and interesting beer. JK (2392), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA May 31, 2008 A thick and heavy tripel. Coriander and yeast in the aroma. Some flavor of flowers, and lightly sweet malt, with a finish of dry hops. Interesting take on the style, with the sweet wheat character and dry hops. The high abv is well hidden. Thanks to Islay for sharing this one. tennisjoel (716), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA May 30, 2008 Sampled at OSLO’s tasting courtesy of Islay
Very perfumy aroma. Some cinnamon, nutmeg, vegetal, as well as some hefeweizen qualites. Interesting take on the style and unlike any other tripel I’ve sampled. Lots of spice here.
