3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours deep amber. Nose is fruits, sugar, dried fruits, caramel. Taste is sweet, boozy, fruits, light yeast, light bitterness, orange, pine. Far from tripel. Whatever it is, it lacks all complexity - sweet and boozy. I would say a miss.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
0,33 l bottle from EDEKA Mohr, bottled on 16/4/2014. Clear, medium amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, tan to white head. Sweetish, malty aroma of caramel, cane sugar, cinnamon, raisins and dried dates with subtle hints of coriander, similar to a barley wine actually (besides the coriander). Sweet, malty taste of caramel, cane sugar, molasses, raisins and dried dates, followed by a long, medium bitter, slightly alcoholic and warming finish with notes of salmiac. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Intense beer with quite a harsh finish. Not very close to a tripel in my opinion. Decent.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Fermentoren. Bronze pour with a frothy head. Fairly hoppy for a tripel, some apricot, light resin, esters, light yeast and a sweet finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Barley Brothers Winnipeg. I shouldn't be surprised, considering this is De Molen, but this is a weird brew. Quite sweet for a tripel, some citrus notes with a strange candy or medicinal note like artificial grape flavour. Kind of works, in a way, but really weird for a tripel.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle brought back from the source by my step brother. Pours a kind of cloudy orange, a little head, that is gone rather quickly. Nose is sweet caramelized malts. Tastes very sweet, malty, big body for a tripel. Really tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Revolution after wrecking my cx handlebars, almost dying doing a high speed endo in the dark on single track and narrowly escaping certain humorous death my porcupine. Very tasty! Very thick, pungent and sharp (but only early on in the sip). Oranges, light pepper, some other spice, dey, almost but not quite alcohol taste, pine, etc. very tasty and I want more. Is it a tripel? Who cares.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
16oz at Beer Revolution, Edmonton. I was really expecting a better Tripel from De Molen. Almost no head, 0 lacing. Flavour is really mellow with some spices and yeast. Really nothing special. Not sure if the keg is being stored properly or the lines here aren’t good for this or what, I know it should be better than what I am tasting. A serious letdown.
