Pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Surprising aroma of citrus, some apple, coriander, some more spices. Has a sweetness to it, but also sour notes. Somewhat wine-like. I did not expect this at all from a Tripel.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2014

Nov 2013 - 750ml bottle, July 2012, 9.2%. Clear orange red, sparkling, large fluffy white head. Looks great, and smells better. Strawberry, caramel, some white wine vinegar up front, and settles down to smell exactly like pineapple juice. Carbonation is spritzy, body medium, slightly foamy, leaves a sticky residue. Taste - sweet caramel malts with cherry and strawberry flavours. Slightly sour. A very different take on a tripel - only some background yeast and spice. Drying over time. Alcohol well hidden in flavour. Very good. (4.0)

May 2014 330ml bottle, July 2012, 9.2%. Clear orange / red, sparkling, large foamy off-white head. Aroma - sweet caramel, floral. Body - medium to light, quite foamy, low carbonation. Taste - very sweet caramel, brocolli / spinach, dank water. Goes to show the variability of beer - the last bottle was much nicer. (3.4)

33cl bottle at De Molen. Hazy dark orange with almost no head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sweet with some bitter notes. Fruits, caramel, hops and coriander. A decent tripel.

33cl bottle into glass. Lille. Appearance: cloudy golden orange. Small white head. Aroma: sour, pineapple, yeasty, wheat. Taste: sweet and then sour. Palate: full body. Oily texture. Long finish. Really interesting beer. Like nothing I had had before. Definitely worth a try.

Bottle. Pours dark golden with off-white head. Nose of the regular phenols and esters... but also has tomato. I love fruity tripels and this one was orange and peach, some spice... and more tomato. Sounds disgusting, but I really liked it, had never seen yeast do this before. I usually just buy one De Molen as they’re expensive for just one bottle, but looking back at my notes I think I’ll try this again because wtf.

Not impressed with this one. Way too sweet and boozy in character. This was bottled 3 years ago and not sure if this style ages well but I suspect not! Plenty of malt, some hop bitterness but overtaken by sweetness. Acrid dryish end.
