3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Bierkoning. Deep amber body with no head. Sweet and fruity nose. Taste of caramel, malts, dark fruits and high ABV. Reminded me of a cognac more than an Imperial/Double IPA. Oily texture with a warming finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle, #236/324, brewed 29Dec08, bottled 02Feb09, with another big thanks to Molenbrouwer for the chance to try this! Pours a cloudy light brown with amber highlights, and a minimal tan head. Aroma is overripe apple, floral, citrus, and maybe some plum and grapefruit in there as well. Flavor has a nice hops bite, with more overripe fruits, citrus, caramelly malts that gives a nice balance, and some lingering floral and grapefruit on the finish. Very drinkable for a big ABV beer and more nuanced than your typical powerhouse DIPA, which works well. Thanks again Menno, for another very enjoyable beer!

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy to murky brown with a slowly collapsing tan head. Grapefruity hoppy aroma, smooth yet distinct hoppy. Fruity and peachy and slight grapefruity flavoured with a nice bitterness coming through. Bitter and fruity hoppy flavoured finish. Nice brew. Lovely.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very good beige head; dark brown beer with ruby highlights. Amarillo jumping out of the glass, resin, grapefruit, excellent nose. Bitter, C-hops, citrussy, resiny, malt syrup retronasal. Despite the Amarillo powerplay, the balance turns out just great. Slick, (hop)oily, viscous, and very well-bodied. This isn’t just great - it’’s truly excellent. One of Menno’s top-tries, absolutely!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the Alvinne pre Zythos event 09. God the hops are lovely. Good fruits/red fruits, bit of peach and then full on US hops. Bit syrupy, lovely hops on end. Good though. Thanks to Menno for being such a great guy and sharing his beers at this event.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2009 Bottle at Alvinne pre-ZBF09. Very nice caramelly hop aroma, smells like an American IPA. Cloudy dark red colour, not much head. The flavour is very fruity with some American tasting hops, but not as much as the aroma. The alcohol level is very good, it balances off the rather sweet fruit flavour, and it gives a good cleansing effect in the finish. In combination with a slightly biting hop it finishes the beer nicely. Rather low carbonation, I would have liked a bit more.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle at Pre-ZBF, pours orange/light amber with a white head. Aroma is extremely hoppy, like I just rubbed them in my hand. Sweet malt and strong hop bitterness finish this beer off very dry with the mouth wanting more. Nice beer.

Bottle at WBF ’09 Gouda. Red/brown colored brew. Very nice strong hoppy aroma, some fruits. Flavor is strong hopped too, some fruits, some malty sweetness. Nice overwhelming bitterness, flavor is staying in your system for some time :) Again a very decent and balanced brew.
